There are two things that need to be addressed on the CG; 1) the inner corners and 2) the arc on top of the crown guard. The problem with #1 is that it is potentially going to be expensive to broach the inner corners. As Polonus mentioned, it costs 10-15K for a broach tool (at that price you can get the gen). If you know someone with a CNC mill who's willing to do the work for you, that's one way to go.

However, for #2, the arc on top of the CG is bigger compared to gen. You can't correct for that since the removed material for the rep is more. And even if it were the other way around (CG arc is smaller), it would be hard (pun intended) to work the titanium to the proper arc.

the height of CG (on caseset thickness axis) is OK and as per gen. The problem is it is too curved and hence there is too little material on "wings". Cannot be cured. But it is for purists ;)

I'm gonna sell stuff to get funds first.. Anyway, having owned the gen before. Besides the CGs. This version is 99% spot on to me. At least in the pictures.

Please, do notice something new on friendly forum:

Doug has posted pictures of his GEN 089G:

As you can observe the GEN CG on his G-series is the same as on H-factory E-series 089... The same about high-profile lugs.

So... REP 089 from H-factory would be almost PERFECT when issued as G-series instead of E-series. Interesting news.

I have already asked Joshua for possibility to make correct G-series caseback - we will see :)

Joshua already confirmed it can be done, but they need real production no and BB serial pair or two to create realistic serials on G case backs. Anyone ?

The word is with another/next batch of 089 they will be of G-series and some number of G-caseback will be probably offered as separate purchase.

Polonus, will Josh make a notation on his site when G series CB edition will be available or should we keep an eye out for update here?

The current batch of 089 needs to be sold before 089G will be produced. Not too long wait :)

You need to take into account that the F and G series watches have a different dial - the L-SM-L position is completely different. As others have already confirmed, The E series Gen dial has a LSML placement very close to the lower edge - this is probably why OP changed it on the subsequent F and G series?

For me the dial is more important than lug differences, as you look at it all of the time? And so is the side elevation of the CG on the wrist.

Who knows about micro lug differences anyhow - unless you really care to do the excellent analysis that you have undertaken.

So, yet again, as is to be expected, we have another 'Catch 22' position?

Please see the gen G series pics above in this thread and the F serial gen pics below.

My vote goes for an E serial (due to LSML dial placement) and I am going to try a Sead A-F series, Ti CG installation, which should improve it a little.

Polonus, thank you for the great review. I was about to pull the trigger on a 111, but this changed my mind. If its not asking too much, or violating policy, can you send me the details on the rep/strap bundle that you purchased? I checked his site, but I'm not sure it's the same thing. I really appreciate it.
