Exactly. However, I admit, that it was not a trusted dealer. But it just remind me, that when using direct bank transfer, you have zero safety for your money. And I lost almost 1000 dollars on that account.
the safety on payment is when you order from a TD of RWI and get scammed, this TD will never sell again to the other thenthousands of forummembers. thats why you dont get scammed.
BUT keep in mind: the dealers here may be trusted, but they work with third party creditcard companys that may not be as scamfree as they are.

Good points! I see what you means. What "third party" creditcard companies are we talking about here? WISE or others?

So what you are seriously suggesting, is that I should just continue losing thousand of dollars as I already has done earlier by making direct wire transactions. Also called direct bank transfers? You have zero safety if the watch doesn´t show up. What exactly do you think is the genious idea with that?

You are right.
There is zero safety once you send the money.
That’s why the RWI TD system is there. Buying from them gives the only available guarantee that you will get the watch you ordered, based on a trust system vs a chargeback system. Can they also mess up? Probably…but between the people taking the time to reply on this thread, there has probably been hundreds of successful purchases

But there is an important factor also in play. Buying reps carry an inherent risk that you need to manage. If you are not able to manage that risk, you have no business doing this.

I understand what you say. Maybe it´s because I´m from Denmark. We get terrified when other people are cheating us. We just trust too many people among us. Safety first. Always. But I can see the "chargeback" issue also. That might be a risk for the TDs as well.

Here is my advice, my Nordic friend
Don’t rush into buying. Give yourself 3-6 months and during this time, participate actively in the forum.

Get to know the members, absorb the lingo, get trashed by @TESLA760 (or me😅) and banter back in good spirits with wit and not aggression

Look up the M2M sales, and the threads on the models of watches, and understand what you will be buying

In short, get yourself into the community trust system, you will feel better once you are inside.

If I am nasty, I would say…stop behaving a Finn and be a Dane, for Christ sake 😂

I care more about personal information than I do about 500 bucks, priorities I guess.

I trust the people I buy from, so bank transfer or PayPal has worked fine for me this far. But you do you buddy!

Ok but then: your mistake/risk was not in selecting payment method, but rather in selecting the dealer!

Apart from a virtual burner cc, I wouldn't even want to buy illegal goods with my credit card.
However, I've only ever ordered from RWI TDs (and the correct websites!) and paid with crypto and haven't lost a cent, so I'm actually comfortable with the system as it's currently handled by the TDs.

The truth is, there are many sellers from China who sell brands as well as watches, and what they do, they set up a sale of something not real on AliExpress, for example: they sell screws, and each type of screw is actually a different color of a watch or a different model, and of course the watches of The real brands, they advertise in certain places, and there for each real product, it is written what should be chosen in the fake product, this is how I bought 2 Louis Vuitton bags on AliExpress.
Perhaps this is also an option so that on the one hand it will be possible to pay by credit card, and on the other hand not to endanger the 2 parties [because if AliExpress discovers that the seller is selling imitations, it deletes it]

Here is what you do.
Use the virtual card to preload money into the Wise account

Then when you need to pay, you use the Wise account credit directly

By doing so, you have a double layer protection plus you avoid Wise card fees

No, Wise is serious.
Make it easy:
Add your VISA to WISE and to PAYPAL and then pay with those 2 payment systems.

Yes, you´re right. I got a very wrong dealer (with a VERY fine homepaige) However, it showed me, how unsecure this direct money transfer is.

I thought I was fine using a card since my first two purchases went fine but after the third it got hacked. I will study the best way to pay next time
