Paying with VISA creditcard

Am I the only one who wonder, why all the trusted dealers offer creditcard, ex. VISA as possible payment, but suddenly after buying a watch or two, the payment didn´t succeed, and they offer instead paying with direct bank transfer or bitcoin. You even got a 10 % discount doing it that way. So whats not to like?

I have lost over 1000 US dollars on doing it that way.

There is always something going wrong in the payment transition, or suddenly the payment gateway is meanwhile not working, so they can only offer me a direct wire transfer which is the most unsecure way to pay. If the watch doesn´t show up, your are lost and the money is lost forever.

It is very frustrating. At an authoriced Rolex dealer, I can easily pay a 30.000 US dollars watch with VISA. I even paid my own car with my VISA card with no problems.

You don't buy from an authorized Rolex dealer; quite the opposite. You deal in illegal goods.

Would you, as an approved VISA payment service, find this acceptable? Maybe an explanation as to why there are often issues.

Solution? Don't pay with VISA.

Hi and welcome to RWI! Glad you found your way here.

Please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members area (all subsections), learn the basic forum rules and get some very good advice in the process. A number of questions has already been answered there, this is just an example:

As a new subscriber, you've already been directed to this thread, please read carefully and look through the linked additional threads:

Another good thread to read to understand where RWI comes from and some fundamentals is this:

Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.

If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.

For anything else, feel free to reach out to @eBoy or me, we're happy to assist, advise, direct, explain. Don't hesitate.

Don't be afraid to post noob questions in the new members area. In doubt, use the flame free zone. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere in the new members area, please reach out to @eBoy or me. Mutual respect is of utmost importance to us. On the other hand, we're grown-ups and are supposed to be able to deal with a bit of irony, don't take it personally, ever, a bit of irony never harmed anyone. If you laugh at jokes, you'll make friends faster.

This forum is a treasure trove of information and benefits from the engagement of all members who take their time to share their knowledge, help each other out and have some fun. We hope that you'll benefit and enjoy this platform as well as contribute positively to it.

If at any point you feel to contribute also on another level, feel free to pm the boss (trailboss99) to become a supporter and get some little perks with the status (editing rights, for example).

Enjoy the forum.

Because using credit cards for illegal goods is a hassle for the TD. They don't want their name on any paper trail so they have to jump through hoops to get the money you send. I've always paid through bank transfer, never had any issues. I only use trusted dealers though. That may be where your issue is.

I just got my card hacked recently. Got the new one so no more paying by card. Maybe I'll use a virtual card or try again with Wise. Frustrating to say the least.

Providing a VISA/MC gateway is never easy for us Trusted Dealers as the brands police and lawyers are hunting down us and killing our gateways in the process.

We are also victims of scammers and its frustrating process.

I must say that if the real members and long standing buddies in here, they are more trusting towards the TDs in here and able to pay in whichever ways, even Western Union or Cryptocurrency and do not worry they will be cheated at all. I thank you all guys for that.

Of course for those who wish to pay via other payment modes, Trusty Time myself do offer many payment options as much as I can do.

Thanks and good day.

It is always interesting to see people whining about can't use credit cards to buy reps. Not hard for me to imagine the same people asking drug dealers, illegal gun dealers "Can I buy with a credit card?" The only difference is you won't get punished, and don't mind the TD getting punished by civil (brand police) or criminal litigations.

Your security is in the symbiotic relationship TDs have with the forum. TDs in good standing have a lot to gain by staying in good standing. It's not worth it for them to scam you for your $500. There's a much bigger risk on them of assholes doing charge backs. I use bank transfer and don't have the option to forcefully get my money back but I know my TD is good and I know RWI has my back if I keep my receipts. If you play by the rules, follow instructions and you aren't a cunt, there is very little that can go wrong when buying from reputable TDs.

I'll have to see how successful I am at linking a virtual card to Wise and getting it to work with the TD. Until I can hopefully do that buying goodies is going to have to wait

Here is what you do.
Use the virtual card to preload money into the Wise account

Then when you need to pay, you use the Wise account credit directly

By doing so, you have a double layer protection plus you avoid Wise card fees

So what you are seriously suggesting, is that I should just continue losing thousand of dollars as I already has done earlier by making direct wire transactions. Also called direct bank transfers? You have zero safety if the watch doesn´t show up. What exactly do you think is the genious idea with that?

Are you buying from the trusted dealers from this site? Or are you buying from Instagram etc?

Exactly. However, I admit, that it was not a trusted dealer. But it just remind me, that when using direct bank transfer, you have zero safety for your money. And I lost almost 1000 dollars on that account.

I am looking at Chazing Time and Intime Watch, they seem rather ok and are of course trusted dealers. They both announce on their front paige, that VISA and master cards are options of payment, so I placed an order of 1600 US. However, after plazing the order, it turned out, that the gateway was "currently" down for the moment for one of them. After plazing the order, the other dealer suddenly claims, that there was a "paylimit " of 850 US. On top of that, the shipping price was 130 euro from Hongkong (they are obviously using "triangle shipment" to Denmark).
