Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 Best Edition

Hi Guys!

I am new here, and I have been looking into details for the PP Nautilus 5711. I have been searching for the best edition and came down to two editions: the 3KF V2 or the PPF V4. Which one do you think would be the better version here? Or if anyone can recommend a better version for the specific model. Thank you!

P.S. I am thinking to get the 5711 with the white dial. Also, if anybody knows, I am thinking to get a white rubber strap for the 5711. I know that Rubber B has a white rubber strap that they are selling for the 5711, but for twice the price of the strap, I could get another replica watch, so I do think it is worth it. I checked AliExpress, and it does not have any white colour. Any recommendation would be much greatly appreciated.

Both have their ups and downs. Ultimately it comes to this: which shortcomings are you more willing to tollerate? Are you willing to spend 300-400 more on modding and fixing some issues?
You might want to read the modding threads here. FInd a modder near you and see what he can do to either Version.

PPF looks better on the wrist, but the movement is nothing like the real deal.
3KF has the better looking movement, but fat bezel and protruding crown...

OOTB: 3KFv2 or PPFv4. Before 3KF white PPF dial was regarded as the best but IDK how it compares to 3KF's.

Modded hybrid: modded PF or 3KF base + 3KF movement + PPF dial

5712 and 5726 are completely different things like apple and orange. I chose 5712.

Thank you for your helpful response and information! They are truly useful! That was the discussion that I read previously. To answer your question, I think I would be okay to spend some additional money to fix some minor aesthetic issues as they may be significant to be closer to the gen. People on that thread are recommending to get the 3KF V2 base (like you said to get the almost 1:1 movement and not the corny crown) with a mod with a PF case and PPF V4 dial. Nonetheless, the thread only mentioned the blue dial, so I am not entirely sure if this would be the case for the white dial as well. As much as I see with my eyes from the TD websites, the 3KF V2 has closer to the gen white dial.

In regards to the modder, should I get a watch first and then mod it with a local one (if I can find it in my local area)? Or get a quote directly from a modder i.e. AMF? Also, I don't see a lot of modders on the TD sections.

That is what I gathered for the best mod! Thank you though! Maybe I should get both to compare? The white dial is not as popular as the blue dial, so I guess I should get both and the first to compare the dial?

You're brand new here and it seems in the world of reps. Take a PPF or 3kf depending on which flaws you can better live with and enjoy it out of the box. You'll be blown away by the quality. If after some time you realize that there's a flaw you want to address, then you will be able to get it modded. But I always tell newbies that there's no point throwing money to get a rep modded to change things that they may not be able to appreciate. Remember that we're a community of nit pickers and in real life these are small details
