I wrongly posted this in general discussion; apologies for cross posting, but this is the better place to post.

Can anyone identify this Panerai 111?

Yes, the watch is a PAM111, but wonder if one of our experts might recognize what
factory this might have come from.

Should a sausage dial 111 have the 6497 with CDG decorations?

Does anyone recognize this rep? Not working and wonder if I should use for a build/mod? Any value?

cotes de geneve - it's the term used for the decorated striped finish on the movement. At one point it was also referred to as a Geneva Wave or Geneva Stripe.

@Woundup Posts show that you are one of the Panerai experts and perhaps you can identify my 111? Looking for a V4 Noob, but would be willing to get my feet wet with a special build if this one has good bones?

I'm far from an expert. There are members here that have forgotten more than I know about the depths of Panerai models & versions - unfortunately for all of us they don't post often these days. I simply put the effort into reading, researching and studying pictures closely to educate myself on the details of the differences and what was/is correct and what can be modified to achieve the best results.

If the 111 you posted above looks good to you, then just fix it and enjoy it. If you are obsessed by having to have the most accurate, closest to gen replica 111, then as I mentioned in your other post, you are going to have to spend a lot of time in the M2M sections waiting for a Marlin or Noob - and then be lucky enough to see it first. However I don't really see the point of this if you haven't taken the time to understand what separates them, so just buying the best currently available version from a TD seems like the simplest option.

Your 111 appears to be a very old and not very good rep from before the days of the Noob / HFac versions. It is incorrect in that it has a polished cg with cdg decorations and what looks (to my eye) like a very thin top dial layer - almost looks like sausage. The movement looks similar to some old DSN's that I have seen, but probably not due to the poor execution of the other components. Looks like you have a deco screw missing from the train bridge plate - this could be lodged in the movement and the cause of it not working.

Thanks.

It is possibly 15 years old and I don't believe it is worth the time or effort. It is an F watch so perhaps the crown guard is correct?

Also, it does not have female threads in the lugs for strap screws. The screws are hollow on the opposite end and accept a small slotted screw. Was that ever a gen feature?

On pre G, was the CG polished and lever brushed or lever polished?

To confirm, you're saying the case you have is using a Pre-V tube and screw setup for mounting straps? a total of two tubes and four screws?

Yes, it appears that is correct......unless, the screw heads are fixed on one end of the tube? I have only removed 2 small screws?

@Woundup You are a genius, Gump.....lol. Removed the case back and out popped a blue headed screw and a small washer with one flat side. Watch running and keeping perfect time. Of course, its only been 6 hours......

Easy to see where the blue screw goes, but no idea about that special washer?

It's a tab for securing the movement - there are typically 2-3 around the perimeter. Unfortunately this means you likely have another, smaller screw that would have secured the tab still floating around in the movement.

That looks like a case clamp and not a washer

The movement tab is bolted to the movement and there's a slot in the case for the tab to go to.
Look around the movement edge and hopefully you'll find an empty hole.... because the screw that hold the tab have a tendency to brake on the head leaving the rest in the hole with no way to extricate it.

Watch has been running for near 24 hours and lost about 2 minutes. The mounting screws are intact, but neither has a lock tab washer and the movement is not secure. Only one tab washer was found, so the other teleported itself away.

Guessing that any newer rep will blow this one away, unless someone tells me this is something to hang on to, I am ready to put in the rear view mirror. Any value?
