I am not into panerai yet... butI am thinking whether my next rep purchase should be a VIPmariner, a 111h or a SFSO...and the 111h is getting more and more interesting.... We will see.

I agree to Pough, when my wife saw my first PAM, she loved it. She is not into watches, now she has 2 PAms, a 48 and a 50, both 40mm watches with a lot of straps. One word...the watch is simple

I clearly don't understand the Panerai craze. I've been to the ADs in Paris (where I used to live) and also Boston (where I currently live) and again Panerai seems like the ugliest watch to me.

Give it a year. In a year, you'll have three.

I've just moved from Paris too, but I have a design background. The one thing that struck me with the Panerais from the beginning was their typography. Pure art deco at its best. I hated the rest of the look.

However, Mrs Pugwash, who abhors celebrity worship, immediately said that it was the most beautiful watch she'd ever seen, so I decided to get a 111h to see if I'd reject it in the flesh. I now have a 111h, a 183 (Mrs Pugwash's watch), a 127, a 196 and a 187.

There is an old latin saying that goes..."De gustebus non butantem est" which means, "In matters of taste, there can be no argument." With that thought in mind, if someone loves Rolex, and I do not, I support their taste, for it is their own and it is their right. To say "I don't get it" is rather insulting to the person who admires a certain style. I say to each his own and let us not cast stones at each other tastes in watches, for thats what we are here for is it not?
