the funny thing about this is the original poster of this is trying to trade a 172 for a fiddy...he must like them after all...

The only watch that I have ever really looked at and said, "Yep, that is worth every penny." is a G-Shock. All the high end brands are WAY over priced for what they are. You can buy a Patek or a G-Shock that both provide the time, day, date, month, year, second time zone and chrono function. The Patek is made of gold (ooooooh :roll: ) and the G-Shock is plastic. The Patek needs service about ever 5 to 7 years and the G-Shock needs a new battery about every 10 years. The Patek will be utterly FUBARed if you drop it and the G-Shock will bounce. The Patek is a watch that can be handed down to your great grandkids (so the ads say) and so can the G-Shock. The Patek is beautiful, can cost over $80k and is worn by the worlds elite. The G-Shock is basic, ugly, about $80 retail and worn by Marines in jungles and deserts all over the world.
So, what is really overpriced?
