That site is great,He has some gorgeous straps on there,
Is the quality as good as it looks?

Quality is top notch and while not cheap, I feel Gunny is a good value relative to other high end custom strap makers. You won't be diasappointed!

I've been able to cop some nice Gunny's 2nd hand and they were very affordable. One man's loss is my gain. :)

Nothing sweeter pal than winning on a deal,
specially if you get a great strap for a great price!

Could this be a photo from a pre-production sample for SIHH and journalists? I haven't seen a recent gen Panerai without an engraved production number. It's an important part of their "collectible" marketing strategy ("look, it's one of just 1000, I'm special"). Maybe someone else can shed a light on this.

I'm quite sure this is a pre-production prototype as the article from ablogtowatch (and most other online publications) were released in January, shortly after SIHH2017. As such you would not find any type of millesimation info on the watch being reviewed. Also, the PAM00682, and its eagerly awaited gold and ceramic bezeled twin, the PAM00684, are scheduled to be released by OP in June, so I doubt these publications would be getting a production piece 5 months early.

Yep, they could put serial number from "I" of "panerai" and 300m symbol

However this pic confirm to me most importan thig: The genuine caseback seems mooooore and flat thin than XF factory.

How much different would the thickness seem to you?

Not much, but visually at profile the 682 it's a pretty nice watch, but on XF rep it has an huge high caseback that to me it is incorrect from new panerai new models "attidute" from flat caseback. I think it should be more flat like in new 1389 to be correct, but i can go wrong on this :)

Maybe when the watch is released, we can compare with gen pics.

Do you think 682 has the potential to be the first 42mm super rep? Or are there any critical flaws that would just ruin it?

The movement unfortunately is what is keeping the watch from being classified as a super rep. Although it does look the part, it does not have the functions like the gen P.9010 movement. So the most it would be is first class bordering on Super rep. All open caseback submersibles also have this "problem" and that is why a lot of closed caseback subs are being classified as a super rep, because there isn't a visual reference for the watch to be called out.

What's the thickness of these again?

at 42mm, if its still based on the old P9000 clones then it'll be insanely thick

You did check the picture on the first post right? It's based on a P.9010 clone, not a P.9000 one.

They're both just A7550 are they not?

They are (and they are not, as you forget or you don't know that there is a Seagull version). But those made with the A7750-based P.9010 movements are thinner than those made with old A7750-based P.9000 ones.
