I have to say that I do love my 799 but the lume color is off. The blue is lighter than the gen. The gen is slightly darker and the same color as the blue type on the dial with more of a sheen. A clear tell.

It's not only the markers which are a darker blue, but the dial.

The dial on the gen has this metallic effect - and they were able to get that effect (or similar to it) in the 1616. Where you see this metabolic sparkle in sunlight. But they didnt pit it on the 799.

Thats the real tell for me. The marker colors being too light and the dial.

These pics are gen. And again, at some angles it looks flat but at others gets the sparkle.

... and the hands are too bright on the rep compared to the gen. The gen has a textured grey appearance as well.

I agree. So do I. Despite the flaws in this rep, it is still one of my favorites.

As with all reps, I wouldn’t post this one to any gen forums. Where we can get away with it with some, this one will certainly be flagged every time.

By playing with the color, contrast, and exposure, I was able to get the color close.

Oh, and I was able to use a series of jeweler files and create radius corners on the CG.
