It looks better than the ones on TDs websites.

I asked for pics of dates 12 and 28. I also asked, if I could change my order to another watch I have on my radar. I really wanted to try a Carbotech watch, but I'm not a fan of roughly finished materials. And the loud rotor noise that so many people reported about. It sounds like you made up your mind. Just reject it then. No need to give a reason. Just reject and get another one.
I own the Carbotech Navy Seals. My advice is to just accept a rep is a rep.I asked for pics of dates 12 and 28. I also asked, if I could change my order to another watch I have on my radar. I've owned over a hundred reps so far and learned to live with various flaws. I accept a flaw much easier, if I see that all units are pretty much the same and that there's nothing a TD can do about it. I specifically asked for an aligned DW, so I have to ask myself do they care at all about what a customer wants? Or really can't get a good unit?I own the Carbotech Navy Seals. All Carbon Fiber watches kind of have that texture to them to be honest. Even gen sometimes has it. Sometimes even gen carbon fiber watches have it.
The Panerai P9000 clone has always had this rotor noise. It's a hit or miss. Can always be silenced.
No. There is no fuzziness like that on mine. The patterns on mine are all smooth. Like I said, just reject it.
I will. And probably end up on the TD's "F#€k off" list tooNo. There is no fuzziness like that on mine. The patterns on mine are all smooth. Like I said, just reject it.
I didn't notice any fuzziness on my FC...but its my first time with a piece like this, probably missed it even if it had it.
What...watch? Sorry to hear you have a bad experience. This is a nice first PAM, enjoying it.Order cancelled, I decided to go for another watch. Nice TD, very nice They probably don't feel the same way about me
Oh well, I'll live, I had pretty much every single Panerai I ever wanted during my PAM craze periodWhat...watch? Sorry to hear you have a bad experience. This is a nice first PAM, enjoying it.
I have the 15720 APSF myself, amazing piece. Can't beat the quick release strap and buckle (functions perfectly). Build quality is top notch. This clone movement is the smoothest winding (i was scared the crown wasn't connected to the movement at first, had to flip to the caseback and check, lol) and quietest (can't hear it at all) movement I have the pleasure of owning, maybe I got a unicorn. But these movements are known to be robust have a low repair rate, so must be quality.Oh well, I'll live, I had pretty much every single Panerai I ever wanted during my PAM craze period
I went for the V2 ZF AP15703 diver, I had one years ago and miss it very much, so I'm hoping for the best.
I would say around 3 is the limit for rejection. After that its a little bitI will. And probably end up on the TD's "F#€k off" list too
I know...I haven't rejected a watch in ages and this is my first ride with this particular TD. I simply don't feel like accepting a watch to make him happy or not to annoy him. This is a popular watch and I'm pretty sure that someone will come along who won't mind these imperfections. They've been very cooperative so far, so fingers crossedI would say around 3 is the limit for rejection. After that its a little bit
This was my first PAM, but looks like you have a ncie collection, how does this compare in your collection of the smaller PAMs? I like the smaller, more wearable onesGents, it looks like if I am one of the first bastards who got his PAM2231 So let me give you a brief overview about my first impressions. The first thought which came up was really "this is the better PAM960!". The design is now perfect for me!
Overall quality: I couldn't discover any flaws on the case/bezel/datewheel (even under 3x zoom), but I am not a nitpicker for tiny flaws anyway. Especially the datewheel is perfectly aligned. Here some pics:
Glass: The old VSF fish eye effect has been removed already some time ago with latest PAMs. Luckily that is still the case. The glass has improved a lot but still a 2x AR coating would give this an additional upgrade.
Some more pics:
Rotor: this is not my first 42mm VSF PAM and unfortunately most of them have a flaw which can't be shown in the pictures --> the damn rotor noise and this one has it too! Actually this seems to be the worst case I've ever had. That needs to be fixed. I just hate it to give it away to the watchmaker when it just arrived.
Summary: so, in general it's a very good sample of a 42mm VSF (when you don't compare the thickness with gens) and I would recommend it to buy, IF you are able to fix the rotor noise or you are just the lucky one who received a silent one...
