I've just ordered one of these. I saw one in the flesh yesterday at watch get together and it blew me away. However I have also ordered a gen blue alligator as I'm not a fan of the strap it comes with.

Very nice strap.
It became the elegant impression by having changed a strap.

Mine arrived 2 days ago (from PT) and I wore it all day yesterday absolutely love it and the sunburst dial is spectacular.

Strap is a bit ify but I am keen to stick with it for a while to see if it develops some sort of patina to it - looks a bit too bright for me, buckle doesn't feel of the greatest quality. Blue croco would be the way to go after as well I think.

I guess one advantage of this watch is if it does have flaws no-one has probably ever seen one and the dial is so spectacular no-one will probably think overwise it catches the light amazingly well.

Does anybody know if there's available a crystal to get rid of that distorsion? I have seen the gen and it doesn't have that thing drives me nuts, only thing stopping me from buying this gem, would probably buy it anyway and wait for a solution lol

I aboslutely love this watch, but atm chose to go for 688 purely because of these unsightly distortions. I have seen gen photos and not a single photo shows such bad distortion.
Do we have any guys here who can do custom crystals?

While the distortion is there I wouldn't call it unsightly at all. In fact on the wrist I don't even notice it (yet) - it's not really evident front on, however if I could replace the crystal after time Who knows it may start bugging me after the honeymoon period.

Is this white halo the edge of the crystal (it is thick) or the gasket?!
I think that this is what make the dial look smal when you look straight at it. If you look to the watch at an angle this is not visible and you can see the dial going all the way through the bezel.

I went at my local dealer today to pick up my 690, but the crown was not flush with the case. If you screw it in all the way there was a huge gap, so I will have to wait for another sample.
But it is an amazing watch. It was a ZF btw

my ZF from M2M arrived and I have to admit I like that distortion
somehow it reminds me of the vintage Panerai with plexy
