Hello All,
I recently purchased a pam 288k from a member. I was told this model was superlumed which does not seem that super to me. I am not sure how long or bright the lume should glow. It glows bright for about 2 minutes then nothing. Not even in pitch black. Kinda dissappointed. Also the deployment buckle will not stay closed. Anyone with a 288k with same issues? Other than that the watch seems really nice. It has the croc strap that was Also this is my first PAM.

THX!

I think you are having VERY high expectations from that watch mate. Just because it is superlumed doesn't mean it will glow as bright or as long as the gen. My 288K glows pretty bright and I'm very happy with it

Like I said, the lume is good for 2 minutes then "poof" it's gone. Are all the pams with the superlume C1 C3 luminova this way? Just curious because that is what most people talk about when it comes to the pams. I was definetly under the impression that the lume would at least remain legible for a couple of hours....not minutes. Looks like it needs a new buckle too. Will not stay closed.

Any one who thinks that a rep is done in gen Tritec luminova is in for a nasty shock.
"Superlume" is about as much a marketing term as "made 1:1 with gen as sample"
It should manage more than two minutes however.

Tritec Super-Luminova costs about $50 a gram with customs taxes and shipping fees, so hoping to find some on a $250 rep is just delusional.

It's more expensive because it's a chrono. The same quality level with an A6497 would cost $250-280, as the newly released 005k.

But you're true on tha fact that it should glow brigther than a $100 sub.

Are you sure it's the latest K-series, there have been bad reps of this watch in the past. My K is very bright initially and stays "visible" throughout the night, best of my collection. Strap, not sure... replaced mine right away.

when u refer to its as being gone, are u in a totally pitch dark room or with ambient lighting?

rep lume came a long way since 5yrs ago.... now a unmodded superlume should still lighted enuf in total darkness till a fe hours depending on your charge.

eg. whole day outdoor in sun light, my dssd glows from 10pm lights out totally till 6am without much issue.

if u compare it to charging it under a lamp for an hr, it should not last.

uv is the criteria here would be the best i can explain

if you paid $380 for the watch then you have been fooled twice. mine was $248 from Lay and it glows pretty darn well.. im guessing you got the Gen croc strap?

Yes, it has the gen croc strap. But the buckle does not stay closed if you shake your wrist. keep in mind it was purchased from another member and has been worn some. Not sure how this particular buckle should hold up on the gen croc strap.

Considering the lighting of the room, this is definitely not what I would call weak.
I you really like to this that sub you were talking about.

How was the lume charged and for how long? If the watch stayed under direct sunlight for 30 minutes and fades after 30 seconds, it can indeed be considered as weak.

If the watch sayed under a lamp for 5 minutes and seriously fades after 1 minutes, it's not that bad at all.

And once again the light in room where you took the pics is pretty strong. It would glow brigther in a completly fark room.

After being charged in the sunlight for a couple of hours, it managed to stay visible about 30 minutes in pitch black darkness. After that.....you have no idea what time it is in the dark.

if thats the case, it should be low quality lume powder. something like 10yr old pam
