Pam 253 Regatta Flyback

What do you guys think of the Pam 253 reps available? I'm thinking of buying this from Andrew http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?m ... 8064e82aa7

How accurate? Do you like the 1950 better? Do you think genuine sapphire really exists for this model or should I just stick with the synth sapphire?

You can only get the synthetic/mineral glass in the 253 and 212 now. As for the 212, I just ordered one from Andrew and he sent me an old 21K asian version. He said that is the only one available. I sent it back. The 253 has the newer movement. The numbers are a little thin and not as green as the gen but the dial and back are pretty spot on. It's a nice watch.

Aside from the fact that it is not actually a flyback, the thin numbers, as mentioned above, is the biggest flaw with this watch. Don't let it stop you, I love mine!

Funny you guys would mention the numbers. I spent an hour looking at pictures of the gen and rep side by side and never noticed. Good info, guys. Keep it coming.

It is a nice watch. I bought the one that was 328.00 or so from Andrew. It is funny how this watch seems smaller in person when you get it, but it is fairly accurate. Go for it.

Haha, no kidding. I pour over detailed photos of watches on the internet and forget they are all taken at like 4X size.
