So you will reject every watch that isn't judged a V4 here? Sorry but if that is the case, then this will be the last time we will help you. V4 is a lottery, which for the most part, if you read the replies here, very rarely does someone win. This is a thread for stating what version you have, not for rejecting based on your misplaced expectation.
So he transfers money for a V4 and you scold him for actually wanting what he is about to pay for?! If they advertise a V4 and try to sell him an older model, then what is wrong with rejecting it?
This is a thread (thanks to mysterio’s suggestion) started to check the QC pics from buyers of PAM 111 reps...
QC pics are allowed and welcome on this thread and we will try to attend every consult
...do your own research, we won't be your QC squad.
I'd like to pick up a 111 at some point and intended to use this thread for assistance. It seems that somewhere over its 28 page span it has been misinterpreted so perhaps I could help in clarification for others. The first post does indeed say this:
But you should also bear this in mind:
From what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong): QC pics posted in this thread aren't meant to be used to accept or reject the watch you're buying but simply to identify the version of its components.
Hopefully that goes some way to clearing things up. Go ahead and consign this post to the trash if I've completely misunderstood.
Ok maybe I got hung up on the bit where you said "we won't be your QC squad" and thought that meant this wasn't the place to ask QC questions.
Yeah you're right, I couldn't be bothered with reading all 28 pages of questions about other people's watches so I just read the first all-encompassing explanatory post and was dumb enough to think that it was all-encompassing and explanatory. Then when I read the latest page and saw that the thread didn't seem to be what the first post originally set it out to be I took some time to familiarise myself with what seemed to be happening and then condensed it down into an easy to understand post to try and help others that may have done the same thing - including the caveat that I may be wrong and am happy to be corrected. Then when I was corrected I went back to identify exactly where I may have made the mistake so I could clarify and ensure others reading the thread have the right idea of what it is about.
A few months ago I had surgery to remove a piece of shrapnel from my nose that's been there undetected for nearly 20 (twenty!) years. I'd always just thought I had a runny nose but it turns out that during the explosion I'd been hit in the face with some metal that stayed lodged in my skull. The surgery was not the most pleasant experience but definitely better than active overseas service. After I'd retired I took up a career in more peaceful activities and also discovered the world of rep watches, which eventually brought me to RWI. My point is: I didn't go through everything I've been through to be spoken down to by a defensive mod on a toy watch forum when all I'm attempting to do is assist other people. Fuck me for wanting to help, right?
