It makes me wonder whether there are indeed different batches as someone suggested. For people who have owned hundreds of reps to say it's great and then for others (equally experienced) to come along and say it's junk is bizarre. There must be an explanation.

It’s not junk buddy and in most eyes the VSF is a good effort but for me it just lacks something. I’m not perfect nor is my opinion but my opinion it is and I offer it for guys to judge as they please and help them on the journey to a great rep choice.
I’ve been around a long time in the rep world going back to TRC over 20 years ago but it’s still a learning curve.

I can’t put my finger on it but in hand the vsf looks the part but it doesn’t feel it in the same way a Zzf V2s onwards does(earlier versions didn’t feel premium either). Yes it has a nice black hole effect on the crystal and the shape from lug to cg tip is better but it doesn’t feel premium in hand. The bracelet is tinny and the steel on the clasp bends too easily. I bet the raw case is lighter too than some of the others. I’m going to buy the ZF and judge that too very soon. Can’t decide whether to try an Lv or not. I’ve never liked it really as I’m not a green fan.

They weight is the same, about 154g. Bracelet feels nice, same as my arf v2. Only the clasp is better on the arf. arf Clasp and glidelock snaps better. The VSF bracelet has better rounded edges. First Link of the VSF has a slightly bigger gap, but don t know witch is more acurete to gen.

I think when people say bracelet 9 times out of 10 they are really talking about the clasp which looks small when shut but is the majority of the whole bracelet so can have a major impact on bracelet perception. The arf clasp is 904 the vsf isnt, does this matter? Who knows

Which 116610LV is overall better? ARF V4 or ZZF V3? Are they both actually 904L?

I’ve been around a long time in the rep world going back to TRC over 20 years ago but it’s still a learning curve.

I was there on TRC many years ago! Still got a watch from back then: eddielee TW best sub. It has a 2836 and is still beating since way back in 2003! My nephew has it now, its older than him.

On topic.. a bracelet makes a hell of a difference to a watch. When you hold a watch it is the bracelet you are feeling, the bracelet is the watch, the case is juts a weight...then, on top of that, the feel and weight of the clasp makes all the difference to the feel of the bracelet too.

The bracelet that came on my zzfv2s hulk was poor, it has sharp edges, a light clasp and loose clips. I bought an arf 116610 bracelet separate. It had a much, much better clasp and slightly better finish on the links. It took some refinishing of the link edges and some lubrication and it now feels much more genuine. The weight is nice, the edges are soft and it just slides through your hands like my genuine one when handling it.

I'd advise the additional work on any rep bracelet to improve the feel. It makes all the difference. That's what is missing: Rolex finish and their bracelets, rep factories do not spend the time doing this.

Eddielee A crazy name from the past! I always used River for my stuff. Imagine some of TTK’s comments on here!

I miss Neil (TTK). I had many a late night/early afternoon conversation on Skype. He took some good pictures. Bought pieces from both of them(TTK & River).
Meanwhile back on topic, what a great problem to have choosing between these Subs. It is quite apparent that my vision isn’t as good as it used to be.

Yeah Neil was a good guy with a great way with words!
We have come a long way to have these choices.
Back in 2010 I was the first guy to compare side by side a gen 116610 with what was then the king of reps(Noob)and it was nowhere near even after BK modded them so maybe we shouldn’t put these new crackers under the microscope as much as we do.
Might even have some pics to show the newbies what we had then.

If you look up how ar works you will realise that all ar has a faint hue of either blue or green. Some pictures you can see it some you cant. In real life it is irrelevant, what you notice is is ithe date clear, is the black hole there when the rest of the crystal reflects light.

Seems both watches are great options. Biggest issue I see with ZF is the SEL recess. Biggest issue with ZZF are the CG’s. Pick your poison lol
