Where I need to be.
People spend too much time staring at blown up macro shots on 55" tv screens. Trust me, you can't see these differences on the wrist.

very true.
Often the flaws of a rep seen on forum pictures, are diminished a lot in real life and the most often thing heard about both reps and gens is "nice watch".

Most people don't give two shits about "issues" we discuss here. But I'm a big supporter of nitpicking, if this is the way for the factories to hear our concerns and therefore making improvements on reps. 10 years ago you could easily spot a rep from across the room. Today there's no way I can see if a watch has half filled lume or sanwich dial at an arms length. That's progress.

I had the last version of this watch with the Miyota inside and, appart from the movement, it was absolutely stunning and extremely well made.

As far as I have seen on the gen .. it is NOT a sandwich type dial ... even though the lume is applied in an excellent clean matter it can be distinguished from a sandwich dial. Anybody care to clear up the confusion?

Gen is milled and one piece, but I'm not sure how your superman eyes could have seen that it's not a sandwich unless you actually cut a dial in half.

Eagerly awaiting mine. I really can't be bothered with all the small details that are being nitpicked on. It's a lot of watch for a very reasonable amount of money (if the new movement is a solid and reliable one) and I'll gladly wear it with flaws and all.

Exactly, it's refreshing especially when comparing it with Rolex and Patek reps which hover around 500$

Ordered too. I hope the movement will be reliable. It could be a very good watch for travel.

Already ordered too on etsy a 21mm nato leather :) !

The old Miyota version also had an incorrect crown, it was brushed, but it should have been polished. They got it right this time :)

I think I am the other way around. From pictures, I can’t see any flaws. But in real life, in good lighting, I see all sorts of flaws on my watches (lume over-spill, scratched hands, misaligned markers etc). If I just want a watch to tell the time, then the arms length assessment is OK. However, most members like to admire their watches (gen or rep) at much closer distances than at arms length.

Oh, I'm a nitpicker deluxe myself too, but only when it comes to sloppy flaws. I thought I was cursed or something, as I was buying mostly Seikos lately and 8 out of 10 had some sort of idiotic flaw, mostly misaligned bezels, datewheels and such (not cheap ones, most of them north of 500$ ).
I'm talking about only about flaws such as the dial being sandwich or not, a part of a letter on a dial being too short/long, printing on the dial not 3D enough..
This particular watch looks fantastic to me, the only thing that worries me is the movement. I'm stuck with a 378$ paperweight in case it decides to die on me. My watchsmith won't touch it for sure.

Anyone else received Qc picture yesterday?

can you inform the factory? ring on bezel is smaller compared to gen - it's the biggist flaw. next main flaws are - bracelet links shape are absolutely off, on clasp under the gun is tm, dial look like without scructure and grey - gen is darker...we need high quality bracelet

I accepted it, but if only this is a dust on the bezel near the 7.
