My 2.5 has a much less noticeable flaw than the VSFs being shown here. It will be interesting to see what MK's seconds hand lollipop looks like once the QC pics start showing up.

Will they ever manage to get one single watch right, without some idiotic flaw? I mean, they go through all the trouble of creating a clone 8500 and they can't clip off some bloody plastic residue.. It ruins the watch for me..

Received mine yesterday. Overall it is good. Apparently every single one has te lollipop flaw, mine included. What I really dislike is the bracelet, feels low quality. Everything else is nice, dial looks nice, though it doesn't look grainy like the gen. Unfortunately my xtal came severely scratched, so minus points there.

I have to have all my rep hands cleaned and polished to get rid of the usual finger-prints, smudges, lume over spill etc....so won’t take long to sand down the lolipop at the same time.

Can any gen owner compare this nato versus gen nato?

I have a gen nato from a speed master. I’ll post some pics to compare.

So compared to the black gen nato from my speedmaster, the black has a tighter weave. This is also true of the gen nato straps; their patterned ones are slightly less tightly woven than the solid colors. Judging by the pictures of the gen bond strap above, the weave is spot on. It feels just as good as the gen black i have. Thats really where the similarity in quality ends. All the hardware is understandably less refined, and the engravings are less pronounced, wide, or etched. The finishing of the holes are not as refined, though the rounded end is nicely finished. The serial numbered end has an identical fold in the fabric with as much space for passing the strap body through the buckle. Stitching isn't as nice or apparently durable. Gen is double stitched and wrapped at the ends of the strap. The rep is simply double stitched, and self stitched: as in the stitching doesn't wrap around the ends of the strap. The omega symbol is the most obvious disparity from gen to rep. Overall, the differences are only noticeable when comparing the two, and closely. The quality is top notch and easily as nice as my phenomenato bond strap. Naturally I don't expect a rep strap to be the quality of a $170 Omega gen. It's very nice, and a worthy inclusion for such a well priced watch.

I recall someone swapping their V6F NATO hardware on to the Phenomenato one. Personally, I'd do the same if I end up buying the revised MK.

Glad to hear the improvements but the half filled lumes and the lack of grainy textures still bug me - visually it s not that much difference from my current vsf2.5- probably a pss for me now

the dial also appears slightly domed or is it just me or my eyes that playing tricks?

and i don't think this effect results from the domed crystal as the filler hour markers appear more flat on the outer end to the rehaut than towards the center

If anyone REALLLY want that full grain texture, a really light mist of matte lacquer would achieve it quite easily.
