I'll say it once. It's not O-may-ga. It's O-meeeeeee-ga. The Bond said it like that. And the Bond is the final authority on the matter. Do not doubt the Bond. Do not question the Bond. Do not argue with the Bond. The Bond is all-wise, all-knowing, and all-kicking-ass.

James Bond as we all know is a latent homosexual. Just ask Fleming!

Just because Bond would make you his prison bitch does NOT mean that he is homosexual. It's a power thing.

Latent homosexuality is an erotic inclination toward members of the same sex which is not consciously experienced or expressed in overt action. This may mean a hidden inclination or potential for interest in homosexual relationships, which is either suppressed or not recognised, and which has not yet been explored "for real" or may never be explored in fact.

Bond, as Freud would esily recognise, expresses many tell tale signs of this condition in most of the novels.

So face it Sean, your hero is nothing but a girls blouse.

(Besides which he believes himself to be a Premier League hero but wears a Coca Cola Championship brand of watch).

BME, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Do. Not. Mock. The. Bond.

And just in case you forget this again, allow me to give you a helpful visual reminder:

I understand that many latent homosexuals sublimate their fear of a run-of-the-mill "man crush" by collecting watches...the only truly acceptable man jewelry.

But, that's my homo look at things ...

So thats how Omega is properly pronounced in English, OK. But the category is still omega I hope.
I really hope that the watch I am about to pull the trigger on(details will follow) wont say Omeega on it.
I will watch Casino Royale tomorrow.

If your English is not what foreigners persist in calling the British accent (there is NO SUCH THING PEOPLE!), then continue calling it Oh-may-gah.

But we call it Oh-mee-gah because that is how the Greek letter is pronounced when learning Erasmian-accented Greek.

If I ever hear anyone say Omeega to my face... I'll slap em and call em a bald-headed fag. (Please know that when I am not in fake-watch-character I have nothing against homosexuals or bald-headed fags.)

Americans, or just anyone?

I agree with Americans it would sound affected, as in Madonna's Mid-Atlantic accent affected (we make fun of her too, not just you guys).

But not with foreigners, or with properly-educated Brits, surely? :)

You speak Spanish, don't you, Doctorron? I do too. I am not a Spaniard, but I learnt Castilian Spanish with the theta sound for "Z". Even though I now live in SoFla and have dropped the habit because it sounds odd to Hispanoparlantes here, I still think the theta is more correct.

Oh, by the way, of course in Britain we say "zed" for "Z". North Americans say "zee".

I find that affected. :)

Hi everyone; as you all know OMEGA is the ancient greek term for the letter "O". The autority is not Bond but History itself!!
You have to drop all those "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" and learn how to pronounce correctly; for the anglo-american: the correct "e" pronuciation is similar to the sound you hear when you pronounce the word "FRENCH" ...............
