You guys jinxed me, my DSSD Pro-hunter clasp just broke... Super-glued it back, lets hope it holds...

I wouldn't trust super glue metal on metal. especially not on a moving part or a part that has alot of stress on it.. your best bet is something like a metal epoxy.

Yup. You need some JB Weld.

I dont get it, Why not spend the extra on milling it out of a single piece of metal and carrying the cost over.

It's next to impossible. You can't machine the holes (for the screws) you'd have to drill them, and you'd probably break half of them during the drilling and reaming.

Best way to do it would be to MIM the whole thing, but you can't do that with 904L.

I know this is an old thread but the glide lock clasps are not as sturdy/reliable as the flip lock. I broke one side of my clasp on my DSSD so I used JB weld. Get the black and red one. Not the quick cure one. Several days later I broke the other side :(.. More JB weld. Now I am careful of what activities I am doing when I wear my DSSD or Sub-c.

I´m sorry if I might have overlooked the whole thread but I´m just arriving very tired from work...but on the list, there´s an error.

The Explorer I has the same EasyLink clasp as the GMT-IIc, and not the Sub-C GlideLock...if you have seen it on one, if GEN, it was custom installed, if seen on rep, it was either wrong from factory, or custom installed.

The purpose on the clasps on these watches (GMT, Explorer and Milgauss) is to be subtle and not bother the user that much. That´s why they are smaller.
..The Sub and DSSD otherwise, are diving watches, and have the bigger clasps just on the purpose of wearing the watch over the diving suit, hence teh bigger clasp, to case the extension system.

Apart from the Jubilee and President bracelets, all the new Oyster bracelets are EasyLink now, but they differ on on the presence of the safety-clasp (GMT and Explorer) or not (Milgauss and Datejusts in general)

I see the topic is well covered with images, so I won´t bother to post any so far, but I just wanted to clarify that.
...Sorry if I´m being too picky, or if what I said was already said on the topic, but I really didn´t read all replies yet...I´m tired from work and will do it later on..

=)

Cheers,
Spirit.
