Most TDs still have the V1.5 available. But it really is the V2 that you would want, pretty much better in most ways, 2 piece caseback, locking bezel.

For the "best", you will want the one available at the first link. V2 will have a serial number with the number 8 in the middle.

I recently contacted toro, he only has the Swiss ETA movement which if i remember correctly he is selling for $508. The serial number is 82058507 for the V2.
Lucy at truetime168 is getting it for me for $308 with the ETA clone movement. I personally chose the ETA clone movement only because i've read that most Swiss ETAs are re-harvested movement which may or may not be in perfect working order i.e. lack of servicing. I placed an order with her yesterday.

I seem to have picked up one of the last A2836-2 V2s! out of the three TDs i order from (Angus, Toro, Josh) only Toro had that left. Josh only had the V2 with ETA movement, and Angus' team just kept sending me pictures of the V1.5 ($158, A21J movement).

From my understanding the V2 are no longer being made, and you can only buy with whatever movement is already inside and it looks like the A2836 is now really hard to find.
be careful with the QC pics, as I said I ordered the V2 with A2836 from puretime and the QC pics I got where all V1.5. (one piece caseback, non functioning bezel lock).
like others have said, the easiest way to make sure is the serial number. make sure it's 82058507 and its definitely a V2.

The V1.5 comes with a A2813 or A21J movement as standard.

The V2 comes with A2836 as standard should be about $300+
There is no option for the V2 with a A2813/A21J

Lucy from truetime168 has the Asian2836-2 movement she just confirmed to me today that she placed an order for the watch with that movement, and i should get QC pictures in about a day or so.

I see some people are calling it a V3 although I am not totally sure what the upgrades are. everything with the V2 was very very good, except the intial batches had bad lume application. My V2 was from the few last ones and had decent lume application, good enough for me not to want to relume the bezel.

Just got a reply from sead, only V1 deployants, not the V2 with the divers extension. so this looks like its just a V2 ploprof with V1 bezel insert and V1 deployant. pretty much what the last few V2s where, seems noob just made some more.

I got mine from Lucy today, probably the one as described in above posts, V2 with V1 buckle, Lume is a bit weak but looks painted directly on the bezel so the numbers aren't dull in daylight. Tried some silicon grease in the bezel joint but it's still nearly impossible to use, but not a big deal for me, not worth opening up for.
