I am new guy here in the last month but I have purchased 3 Rolex's from people on this forum so far (one is in shipment right now).

I have a 214270 39mm E1 I bought from Stan a few weeks ago and then I sent it to Katt to have all the gaskets lubed up and he regulated the movement for me. The watch looks great imo. It did have some sharp edges on the clasp but I took those off with a nail file. The asian movement is keeping excellent time (I just should have asked to have the rotor lubed up some). Fit and finish on the bracelet is great and it hugs the case perfectly.

There just a few things I want to have done to it, one is a relume (if anyone in the US knows of someone than can do this please let me know), two I would like a gen or better aftermarket crown/tube. I think it is 6mm and it works okay but it can be a little annoying screwing it down. Hopefully some one around here can find a crown/tube for it, I haven't had any luck with that yet.

Pics of the E1:

The second one I got is from exelonman (David) it is also a WBK Sub 16610. This watch was a great price and a good looking watch. My only issue with it is the bezel has a lot of back and forth play in it (if anyone knows a fix for this please hit me up). The crown locks down smoothly, keeps really good time and the bracelet works just like a gen 16610 bracelet. So for the price it was a great deal, here is the sales post for it http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=197237 .

Pics of it (David's pic look a ton better than mine do)

The third one I have coming is a SD from Rudy40.

Thanks and I have been enjoying the forum.

Welcome to the rolex addiction.

For 1. I honestly wouldn't bother modding it. It's a cheapie. Just enjoy it for what it is and sell it. If you really like the watch, get a better version. A relume and a gen crown will cost you 3x what you paid for that watch. A bit silly no? That's like putting $10k rims on pinto.
Wear it til it dies and do a movement swap. 21js are cheap and easy to replace.
Whats wrong with the crown? If it's just hard to screw in, the stem may not be aligned straight. That happens. If you bought it from Stan, send it back to him. Hell have it fixed ASAP.

I would also suggest buying some tools and learning how to grease the gaskets and regulate the movement yourself. It's easy to do. Esp on a 21j. It would take a $20 kit and a bottle of silicone grease.

You out can oil the rotor yourself with möbius 9010 but it doesn't make a difference.

2. Again, it's a cheapie. I have no idea how to take the bezel off those. Odds are, it's prob got a paper clip bezel. Can't fix the play on that. Just enjoy it for what it is and sell it. If you want the best sub, get a TC. no other way around it. Best on the market and you'll eventually end up with one anyway. May as well cut all the middle watches and just get it.

3. If it's coming from Rudy, it probably doesn't need any mods. That SD will probably set your bar pretty high and you'll end up selling the other 2 reps anyway so there ya go.

I have a feeling that SeaDweller will be your most accurate and prized piece.. I think I saw that one for sale recently, and it was a nice example of the BP SD.

The Explorer looks nice too!!

But the WBK 16610 is going to be your roughest watch for some here as that watch has been extremely well repped by others makers. But still a nice entry piece...

Hit all your used watch bands with some steam from your espresso maker... Steam will really melt the old arm gunk you might find on some of these used pieces. Enjoy them, they look great!

^^^Thanks guys for the feedback. I am really liking the E1 more than I thought so in the future I will probably being buying a better version of it (if I can find one that doesn't cost two arms and a leg).

I can't wait to get the one from Rudy, he seems to know his stuff and own some really nice watches.

The issue with the E1 crown is probably just me getting use to the 6mm (baby) crown trying to screw it in. Katt has the watch working perfect that is for sure.

Thanks again!!!

Not mopuch you can do about a small crown. A 7 or 7mm crown would look silly on that thing.

Just leave it alone and enjoy it.
Relume isn't worth it on a watch that's a $100 bucks since the job will cost more than that in some cases.
im sure you don't need to read the time in the dark anyway.

Those WBK explorers are pretty nice. Not really my style but got one for a friend a while ago. He loves it and wears it every day. Still running smooth.

Those 21js are work horses and if they die, they're cheap and easy to replace. Esp on watches without dates

It looks pretty darn good and i am in the market for one too.
