What if it is a PPF ? ;)

Lately many accounts on IG pop up with high end reps between their gens... And there are even more experienced watch magazines and enthusiasts who like their posts...

Have mixed thoughts about this. But that's not the point here right ;)

That gen DW looks like the PPF one. Keylog is thicker, does it really need that mod?

That's definitely a rep. The original poster's account is private. Find more gen shots with that dial, bezel, and crown.

Is that the blue v2 or the grey?

Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I think the blue dial v2 is identical to the gray V1. We would need to see photos of live gray. On the TD sites it seems that the gray is the blue V2 :-(

no it is clearly not and that was proven many times now. While the "blue" V2 PPF dial got a more grey-ish appearance than a blue appearance it is different from the strictly grey V1 dial.

There are several pictures of the V2 in this thread that show a clear petrol blue tint with a more flat coloration than the grey dial which got more of a sun burst shine to it.

When it comes to colors it may occur very subjective but believe me - with a color calibrated screen and an eye for colors the differences are significant. Even though the difference between pictures of the V2 blue and gen dials on pictures is way more visible.

My consensus is still that the V2 is one of the best blues in the rep world while being less vibrant. Besides that many people have shown that the MK dials and early PF dials got a counterpart in the gen-world of a specific batch. So we are not abled to give only one answer to what the correct blue rep dial is.

The video that was posted earlier in this thread that shows 2 different gen batches beside each other under the same lighting condition was the best example of every Patek charge is slightly different.

... and by the way the white dial is even more rare than the blue in the gen world hehe ;)

in many photos the PPF seems very close to GEN 2019. In others it seems that PPF is a bit too gray. Perhaps there is very little more blue to must mix to be 1: 1 the same color as GEN 2019

The gray tones are definitely too heavy in the PPF v2. That being said, it's still great for what it is and I don't mind that it's not completely 1:1.
