LMAO I was clearing out my family home years ago. I brought boxes of the Britanica to the local charity shop. They would not take them as they said we have the internet now. I was lucky I met an old guy outside as I was carrying one of the boxes back out of the shop. He took all the boxes with delight. He struggled to get them all into his car.

One day my buddy got something called a "Macintosh"- blew the doors off of everything before it. Using technology stolen from Xerox, The screen used something called an "icon" instead of a bunch of letters and numbers to represent a folder.

It was mind boggling at the time.

That was the coveted item we learned on in my school. There was only one. So everyone got one to one tutorials on that one. We had a computer/class room armed with I think eight Commodore 64s. A friend of mine used to program them every day to power up and make little tunes and a flashing display in the middle of non computer classes held there. The poor teachers had no clue how to stop it. Those were the days people were afraid to power it down just in case it got wiped or just blew up

My 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 had three on the tree. Later, I changed to 3 on the floor with a Hurst shifter.
