Still not good enough for me overall though. You sold your v9 around the same time i did, for very similar reasons. Ha ha. Members must think i have a vendetta against the v9 - i dont, i just expected more given the price and quality some of the other factories are producing. How noob still cant get the sel consistently correct but can nail a rehaut engraving as perfectly as they do, is beyond me.

Completely agree with you. Rehaut is amazing. Lugs and sel aren't quite there and the lack of consistency in those departments is too risky. Haven't seen the ARF in the flesh so I can't comment but I never will either - I'm lucky, as soon as I tried it on I looked in the mirror and went, nah, 6 digit rollies just don't suit my wrists. Debate over for me :D

Lucky you ha ha. And yep, you are dead right mate re lugs and sel I gave up the ghost on the hulk and went for a Johnny depp CHS GMT with gen bezel, gen xtal and JF band which compliments the sels as per gen. I havent once questioned its “gen-ness” and have had it next to by buddies gen and honestly it looks perfect.

Next sub for me would be the ARF LN or ARF SD43. These look spot on. ARF are changing the game for me.

For all the unfortunate souls who have a V9 with flush SELs, Backwoods Mods offers a service to grind down and rebrush the SELs to improve recession. Haven't done it myself yet but planning to

My V9 shipped out on Saturday, arrived today. Im super stoked. Looks better in the flesh than in this QC pic. SELs are nice and recessed. lugs look great and exactly as this thread describes for a good V9 example. There is a serious amount of plastic wrap on the bracelet and SELs, that's maybe why they don't appear to have that recessed look on the QC pics people are getting. Rehault is aligned very well despite my concerns on QC pics, Again, the angles will play tricks. Photos to follow when I can work out how. Just bathing the bracelet in in Dry lube now. Best rep out of 11 i own.

After all the wait finally got QC for my v9, I ordered 2 and this is the first.

How do you guys think? v9?

Also I can’t seem to tell if the SEL is flush with the lugs. Can you guys tell?

Aight. Just wasn’t sure about SEL. Looks tight but not sure if flush. But I agree it looks good.

Thanks for confirming bro. I saw almost all the QCs from this post and you are right, this isn’t bad. But I must say this: the angle on the lug for this V9 is still not as slanted as the gen, ever so slightly, which makes still makes this case a bit more squarish compared to the gen. That said, prolly best version of the caseshape thus ever came out (minus the famous v6s which I never really examined closely).

Flash makes the bezel insert better, but I'm not picky enough to let any of these things turn me off ( yet, gimme a year I'll be Franken things and nitpicking it all). I'm a TRUE hobbyists, and I found my new hobby! :D I'm just excited is all...i have THIS for $500. Amazing to me.

Love reading stories like this. The rep game is all about personal experience, if a gen rolex isn't in your price range or maybe you've got kids to put first but you still want to experience that same feeling as gen owners, I think its very cool

Thanks buddy. Loving this thing. In the future I'll have a sick Royal oak, nautilus, and pan of some sort. I'm sure I'll get into others. This rep hobby now has me into a watch enthusiast. I'll probably never get the chance to even SEE a royal oak, nautilus in real life. It's so cool to know you can have reps that are SO close to gen. So happy I found this hobby. What man doesn't wanna own these fine watches??
