Ok, how does the SEL fitment look?

Are SELs are flush with the lugs or recessed?

The crown on the rehaut looks like it might not be perfectly centered on the 12 o'clock mark, is that correct?

Rehaut slightly to the left prob. Can fix it by reallignment.
magnification slightly too much on the left imo not sure tho.

SELs are flush.

I’ve finally just about sussed how to post the QC pictures at last. My subs a v9 from Ryan at intime. Please give me your honest opinions on what you can see flaws defects etc many thanks pictures are in the link a above. ☝????

definitely a v9. u wont get better atm. take it.
the SELs are near flush, but better than full flush or higher.
its the same like this(maybe u have a little better SEL-recession, if your lucky(hard to see on the QC-pics)):

Looks good to me, but I guess it is all in the feeling. Try the baby oil trick for the bracelet, and as I am sure you know (since you started this thread!) that a few mods will go a long way. PPM, crystal, maybe even ARF bracelet and you are good to go.

Yeah , ive got a gen xtal ready and some 1.78 springbars to improve the sel just deciding if this is worth fitting it to , il leave the bracelet the gens are squeaky at first too but settle in, it's more the poor machining/cnc marks. Definetly needs something on the insert paint , waiting to see what smoke is getting ready to do with that

Hi guys,

i will cut right to the chase. I turned down my QC on my V9 sub. There was an obvious fault on the 12 o clock marker, the lume was smeared over the ”chrome” triangle frame. Only to find out a few days later it had been sent, even tough I got confirmation I was up for the next batch. The TD said that it was sent out by ”misstake”.

This is my first ever buy of a rep watch and the whole experience has been really off putting.

For me it really felt like they didn’t give a f*** or could it be a honest misstake? The TD offered to change the dial if I was not happy when it arrived. I hope it will not be visible without magnification and then I guess I will just keep it. Thoughts?

I guess it depends on how it looks.

Wait and see. Submariners are smaller than you think, but if the lume blocks the reflection on the metal then it will bother you.

Could one remove the crystal and carefully scratch the lume off the metal without worrying about damaging the metal? Is it even possible in the first place or does the lume stick too hard?

Hi,

I’ve just received the QC pics for my V9.
After so much debate on this thread and after reading it extensively I still have some doubts if I'm getting the real deal, so I kindly ask for the experts opinions on my QC pics:

Is this a real V9?
Are the SELs and lugs any good (I think there is a big gap - bottom left and upper right...)?
Isn't the coronet in the cristal misaligned?
I think the date wheel looks fairly good :)

pcghill that is indeed a v9. Gaps are not big at all. They look so because of the white background.

datewheel looks good. I'd be very happy with that.

ok guys,
seems this is the new batch. they are all like this atm; they are all real v9.
but the new batch has very minimal SEL-recession.
these are nice watches though.

u dont have to ask anymore! they are all v9 now. seems that noob has completely sold his v8-cases and inserts.

with a little reading u can DIY or have a watchmaker do it for cheap. ;)
like mentioned: u get the movement out and whipe it carefully off.

as long as u have one of the real v9, i wouldnt bother me much.
but you are right: TDs dont give a F... :)
would be nice to know if u have a real v9, than its probably a real mistake. if u have a v8 i doubt the "mistake". ;)

Just to clarify the rehaut alignment issue a lot of people are complaining about. Here is a gen 114060 posted on the rolex forums and you can clearly see that rolex doesn't even care about getting these perfect. Not a big deal on a rep, but I agree if I paid 8 grand for a watch it would be a little frustrating to hear "that's not something Rolex cares about".

Here is the QC. Am I beeing too picky or is the 12 o’clock marker something to reject the watch for?

everthings ok. its the actual v9 batch(nearly flush SELs), but as u saw already there is little lume out of place.
wear it for some days/weeks and check it out. if it bothers you have it done by a watchmaker or DIY.
but: this flaw is very very tiny, maybe hard DIY?! u need a big magnifier and a steady hand. ;)
and if DIY -> do your reading good before(especially how to get the stem out without fu..ing up the keyless).
