I hope you learn enough to become a valued member here. This isn't a thread where TD's hang out, so don't hold your breath waiting for PM's to fly in offering you Daytonas to pick from. And by subtly stating that you are prepared to pay a "premium" price you are potentially contravening the buying and selling rules here on RWI. When your post count is high enough, you will be able to post a "Want to Buy" listing in the sales section.

It’s ok mate he’ll be back soon when that $1000 Daytona’s gold fades

I find it funny that the dealers are using leftover or RL parts and mashing them together to make some weird franken noob and people are gobbling them up at nearly $1k

I actually don’t find that funny. There’s a ton of speculation about the Daytona’s currently. I feel bad for people paying these exuberant prices for these mixed up crap watches. It’s pretty shady of dealers to be doing this an acting like they don’t know what they’re doing or the “factory” it’s coming from.

However, some of the banter between newer and older members has been quite humorous over the past day or so. Then again, I guess that was a result of the mashed up Daytona’s so I get where you’re coming from mate.

A true hobbyist will do much to find pieces that he deems as essential addition to his collection, in this pressure of our, a complete watch or parts. While it's ridiculous to pay 2k for an OOTB tona, one can't help the feeling that 1k signals a shift on the future pricing of these units. I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be surprised that the day is us paying $688 for an SS tona may well be over.

I find it funny to read speculations on the origin of the Daytona sold by the TD.
Let me remind you that most of them are not based in mainland China, and source the watch from third party.
It’s my knowledge that their is still quite a lot of Noob watch available from little dealers that bought their stocks before the raids.
You can find some in China, Vietnam, Thailand etc…

It’ll be harder for them to source them as there’s currently an amazing demand for those. À Daytona at 2k will sell in NYC in less than an hour.

As for Noob, it’s starting to be obvious they won’t come back.
It’s sure there’s gonna be another factory that will replace them, but it’ll take months before the connection between the different providers will be secure and up for mass production.
Don’t forget that we represent a very small market share compared to the Chinese market.

Why not wait? Surely there will be a factory to fill Noobs shoes. There’s too much money left on the table if no factory makes the Daytona.

From what I read, Noob had an exclusive contract allowing only them to buy the 4130 movement.

Since there’s virtually no chance of NOOB coming back, I’m guessing the movement company will look into making a deal with another factory?

I have seen this contract mentioned a couple of times on various forums.

In May, it was being said that the Noob 4130 clone contract was to expire in July.
Now I am reading it's set to expire in September?

I guess this rumor will keep being pushed around until an actual watch with a 4130 clone shows up.

Well im a somewhat older member here and i paid the $998 from trusty so ill update with QC and see what i get. I waited to long and thw raids happened. Ive beem waiting for 2 years for the GEN and have since purchased several PM pieces and still no luck. So $998 is fine with me. I mostly just need the noob case and movement and ill mod the rest.

I do hope another factory comes along but i wasn't about to miss another opportunity to get one of these so im willing to roll the dice.

For me they are all inferences. We are talking about illegal activities in China. Do you think a contract between two illegal companies has legal value? It would be like the equivalent in the EU or the US of a contract between a cocaine supplier and the pusher

Nice where did you get one for that price? I was contemplating buying 2 since both white and black dial were available.
