if only it had the characters of the date + thick, it would be seen much less ... perhaps with a more fat date it would almost go unnoticed ....

Haha right where's a fat ARF DW when you need one? There's a mod for us to do. The ARF 2824 DJ41 DW is in the exact same lateral position as the DG DW's. Plenty of those sitting in people's parts bins. The disc would have to be sliced off the 2824 DW and reglued to the DG DW because the DG tooth ring is a shorter height. Especially critical in this model because the GMT disc sits very close above. The DG disc and maybe some of the DW itself would need to be sanded off, but it would be possible.

Beautiful KJ, I wonder how it would look with a smooth bezel

No chance bro with the bezel being functional. I'm sure it has some special gearing or linkages to connect to the month indicator disc. Unfortunately I have tear mine apart so I can replace the tube. TD offered free repair if I send it back to China but that's something I don't do. I'll take a look at how the bezel works while I'm under the hood, haha.

Beautiful watch. One question - did you notice the SELs were not flush in the QC pics?

Sorry that you had to fix yours, but when you do tear it apart, please post some pics, especially of the bezel assembly.

Also curious what sort of WR you will actually get (not what the TDs claim), with the link from the bezel going thru the case to the month wheel.

One more thing now that I’m thinking about it: how the gmt unit sits on the 2813 movement and if it can be transferred to another movement.

The DG5833 GMT complication is just an extra gear to the GMT wheel from the cannon pinion, and some extra gearing to enable manual wheel setting.

This would not be a 1:1 swap on anything but another DG movement and finding a reliable high beat DG is probably not likely. My new Sky-D movement runs quite well. In a week on the winder since I can't really wear it, it's off by less than 30 seconds.

Thank you for sharing your pics KJ2020, and for the link to the other thread.

I noticed the single digits (up to 12 actually) on the GMT wheel disk are closer to the edge than those in the high ‘teens and 20’s. Is that noticeable on the wrist?

One more question: how does the month disk work with respect to the dial and possibly the case?

I don't think that is true but would be attributed to angle of view. Unless you are referring to the exposed wheel in my pic which is not the Noob wheel.

If you look at the numbers on the blue disk in your post #30, the gap between the top of the digits and the outer edge of the disk increases as the numbers increase. But if that’s your old watch, then this is probably not the case with your new Noob.

The month disc is simply a round white disc with a red square on it that sits below the dial and in this version is free to rotate. I made several different variations of one from scratch while doing a mod for the previous version and could rotate it after removing the caseback.

Cool! Nice work!

So once per month you would open up your watch, move the disk to the next month, and close it back up again. A neat work around the “always at 8” month problem. Thank you for sharing.

Can anyone confirm that this is like that? To change the month, is it necessary to open the watch? If so, I hope Noob will change this system in future versions. For people with less experience in watchmaking, it's really a rush to have to open the watch once a month.
