Regarding the DW, my 2x fonts may be a tick to the left. But rest of numbers look centered. Then of course there’s the angle and cyclops distortion like KJ2020 pointed out. Hope these pics help:

Thank you mate. For the awesome thread. And for the addition DW pics.

I’m going to see if mine is decent or not. I planned on placing a gen DW in any event. However if some one knows about the DJF or othe CHS replica date wheels that are close to gen. I may just source one of those instead and not have to mod a gen part.

Can any one comment on the other CHS gmt M II date wheels that look good when compared to a gen? Or is nOob the better of the lot?... I doubt it

Anyone know if the crystal used on Pepsi is the same as the previous LN Ceramic GMT? I have a CAR crystal somewhere, if it fits the new Pepsi I will get it fitted on.

Hi

The correct crystal for the Gen 126710 blro is: 25-295-CAR-V5.

I don’t know much about crystals etc. But I wonder if it would fit this noob, and what the correct gasket would be?

The source of the crystal info is Blake from www.scotchwatch.com

He’s so helpful and has so much gen stuff.

Thanks for the info. I wonder what's the difference between B25-295-CAR-C1. I guess it's the gasket size.

DJF makes 4 Pepsi models (5 counting meteorite dial)

http://www.trustytime01.cc/index.php...&dto=&x=54&y=7

The DJF DW is not bad, but Noob has long been generally accepted as having the most gen-like fonts and is also the most consistent across its models.

Until the release of this Noob, the DJF arguably had the best insert available, with no white lines or really noticeable speed bumps at the color transitions. Some people sourced the DJF insert for use on other models. But now I think many would agree the color depth and variation of the Noob is unchallenged.

One thing you should consider or at least be aware of when buying a CHS is the hands used. Noob and DJF both use hand hole surrounds that get progressively larger as you descend down the stack, like the gen. Other models like BP/GMF inexplicably use a GMT hand (3rd down in the stack) with a larger hand hole surround than the hand below it, the hour hand. So part of what you gain by having the CHS is lost by having a grotesquely large GMT hand hole surround completely obscuring the hour hand hole surround beneath it.

If I were buying one of these Pepsi's now, the Noob is the clear frontrunner if you can stomach the price gouging. But mark my words in two years reps this simple (no chronos or tourbillon, etc) are going to cost $1000 and we will long for the day when we got one for only $700.

Gen hand stack. Note the sizes of the hand hole surrounds.

Gasket height, yes. I've seen different sources correlate numbers (1, 2, 3, etc) to gasket height sizes - 1.8, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 3.0 but not all of them agree.

Clark's, Esslinger, Startime, Cousins are sources for gen equivalents.

http://www.startimesupply.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?

Thanks for the info. The Clarke’s at 35 bucks beats a gen at 525, even if it wasn’t 100% equivalent, the price gap is hard to ignore.

I’ve been holding out forever for the ARF release with clone movement and was close to the GMF, then Noob finally drops the Pepsi. Yes I know it’s overpriced, but I just had to have one.

The color? I think it’s close to the latest MK II bezel colors which are toned down a bit. I think Noob used MK II gen. I much prefer the WG and early MK 1 brighter colors. I can tell you the the blue and red transition a lot from indoor lighting to sunlight. The blue goes from Navy to a Royal Blue; the red from a burgundy to bright red. In the sun the blue and red come alive. The bezel fill is not white and has good contrast indoors. For me it’s the best Pepsi bezel yet.

I’ve had 5 Noob’s CHS Batman (and 42 EXP) and movement worked well for me, even daily wear (I always set the hour hand forward to set the date, not backwards). I hope to have the same luck here.

First thing to go is the 80s Jubilee bracelet. Yes it’s beautiful, but it makes this watch look busy IMO. For me the Pepsi bezel is the star on this model and the Oyster bracelet is perfect. Especially brushed. I borrowed my Sub bracelet...for now.

Anyway, some pics of course ????

The Oyster bracelet is a JF Sub bracelet? I saw it mentioned in the thread, but wanted to make sure prior to ordering it for my watch.

Thx

Yes bracelet is from my JF SUb 5 digit Kermit. It has the old style clasp of course. I’m prob getting Noob or ARF 904L Sub Bracelet for it.

You keep making me reach for my wallet bro, dammit I had other plans but I know how things can change after a batch has run its course. This one is good.

I agree fully. When a batch is good, get involved.

Ohhh man that really is very nice. I keep trying to leave the RepWorld then I find another release or Frankenstein that gets me back into it all. I can see one of these winging its way to me. Great pics as well.
