Very true. My 16622 has probably cost me as much as what the daytona would cost, in fact additing it up....$500 gen dial, $500 sean case, $150 gen hands, $100 gen crown, $350 gen crystal, $800 gen bezel, $250 full case and bracelet refinish and bezel treatment from Tomrep, $200 sh3135, $100 gen datewheel....yeah this daytona ain't too bad

will only the gen dial be needed for modding or do you also need gen hands?

If you can affort it, get gen hands, but not really necessary. Rep hands are ok, a little too long. Hands need to match the lume color of the dial. Rep dial and hands come in CL. I just bought a new gen white dial with a complete set of hands for 950 euro.

Ugh wish i went for white now, i prefered it anyway but my TD said out of stock so went with black, are the subdials really that bad?

I don't think cases Arf and Noob are basically identical. It doesn't seem to me, looking sideways. In the Noob lugs are straight. Arf has the lugs going down, like the Gen. I still prefer Arf. It looks more gen like, as a whole. Imho, of course, and I'm judging just looking at the photos.
@ guru can you confirm what I wrote? Are the lugs of the Noob too straight respect to the gen, looking at the side?

Puretime got me a white dial straight away. It looks like I got a new stock/so called V2 so maybe Ryan is not connected well enough.

Yes, I see the photos. And I can tell you that I prefer the one on the right. In my opinion It has more gen like case. I'm sorry that my poor English does not allow me to explain in detail why Arf is more gen like than Noob.
Gen Daytona has a very slim lugs, and Arf Daytona has the shape and proportions of the lugs that are much more gen like than Noob. The noob would seem to have squat lugs, not gen like.
But this is just my opinion
