I've got the YLF, today.. Don't like the noise of the movement, you can hear a noise like a spring spooling ( and you can feel a small vibration ) ..it not a constant noise, Its like the noise when you recharge the spring in circuit breaker in a power swich board.. I dont know if thats a normal sound for the movement...

That's normal for these, it's the rotor helicoptering around. Open it up and put a tiny drop of watch oil on the rotor bearing, it should help slow the rotor a bit.

The gen:

The YLF tachy is worse than the ZF, but the YLF subdials are more gen like than ZF.

But it's too bad YLF swung and missed on the shape of the 3 and 6 numerals. However, another good point is the shape of the 4- I think it's better than the 4 on the ZF version.

If this were as popular as the sub, you'd have people buying multiple models to make a hybrid. :)

Personally, I was happy with the ZF version and agree that the long minute markers on the YLF one are a bit too long, though maybe that's just because I owned the ZF for a while.

Also, YLF was apparently exceedingly rude with Angus and demanded that he remove their thread about their upcoming releases, so I'm not feeling very charitable toward them. Too bad since I was interested in the annual calendar.

That's interesting info about YLF @atgm I was thinking of picking up a YLF since I had, and sold, a ZF already. But maybe not.

It was this which put the nail in the coffin for me with regards to picking up the YLF. I actually think it's a better looking rep than the ZF, but there's a lot of little niggles wrong with it topped off by a rude maker.

As I said, the noise of the movement, is a minor thing, I'll try the drop of oil, as sugested .. The strap, is a little short , for my wrist, and it's very "plastic" and stiff, but will mostly soften up with use.

Thanks for posting the photos buddy!

In all honesty, if you're wanting a more gen feel; a bit of oil to calm down the rotor and either a gen strap or OEM strap is the way to go. Do you have a big wrist?

There's a few strap dealers on RWI or PetersAcc on FB is another one I've seen. They've got an Hermes trained leather worker creating their straps and they look excellent. They're about £180 though so it's quite an investment when comparing to the cost of the rep. They do look exceptional quality however and the costs could be recouped if you wanted to sell M2M [emoji106]

I'll try to find a strap dealer, and have look, but for now , I'll give it some time to soften up. It's a beautiful watch, and I like the design, "a little scandinavien- less is more", contra the ( Let's say ) Navitimer, too much "carnival" dial for me.. :)

@sputim You missed the part where it costs more than the watch itself. ;)
