This alignment problem in QC pics also happened to me. Eventually I accepted. Upon receiving the watch I found that the problem is that the insert is off by a hair to the left. Bezel and dial are fine, but I need to find a way to re -align the insert a tiny bit to the right.

I see you have yours and from the pic it looks really nice.

Do you really need to mess with it ?

Someone viewing it on your wrist would never notice anything amiss.

Yeah, it's probably better not to. Just my OCD

Watch arrived today.....indices do look a little yellow but I guess they are ok. Everyone says gen is has a slight yellow tint also. Overall I'm happy with it.

Hey
Does anybody know what size screwdriver fits these bracelet link screws, none of mine will fit. The slot on the link screw seems very thin. I need to order a new set of screwdrivers or at least 1 new screwdriver to size this bracelet.

I have the correct screw driver size but it took me a while and much effort to remove these screws. Apparently the depth of the crevice is not correctly done. So I had to push very hard to avoid the screwdriver to slide accidentally

You may have luck sharpening a screwdriver so it fits. What’s the width of the slot?

I'm not sure of width of screw slot. It's one of the smallest that I have seen. I'll try and post pic in a little while.

Also I read that Omega uses loctite on their screws on the gen I wonder if the VSF did that also. These things are bear to remove.

Yes vsf have used threadlocker, at least. On mine they did. Put the links in hot water to soften the locker.

I’m wondering what types of screwdriver sets you guys are using. The largest screwdriver in my watchmaker set is a little too small at 1.6. A 1.8 would be perfect. I went and got out my hardware store screwdrivers and the smallest fit.

Did you just use regular hot water or boiling hot water to loosen?

Here are some of my little cheap screwdrivers, these have been good enough to handle just about every need I have had. I have others too but all cheapies, this is one of the rare times they have not worked. It seems to me that there is not enough depth in the slot head for the screwdriver to bite.

Yeah cheapies can be a headache. I bought cheap as anything watchmaker ones and then learnt better ones are very worthwhile.
You could try finding one just too big and filing it down until it fits snugly. The screws are difficult on this watch until you get a tip with a snug fit and then they’re not a problem. My hardware store ones are relatively cheap black steel ones but the smallest did have a snug fit and worked well.

Thanks botsyboy, the hot water worked. I was able to get a link out and get a decent fit. Might have to take out another half link for perfect fit.

Did they use the hard threadlocker which makes it virtually impossible to remove screws without messing up the slot?

On some ARFs it's almost impossible to remove the screws. I'm not sure how good the hot water trick is working but it will be worth a shot.
I'm still waiting my own YG piece to arrive, though.

Glad it worked. A good set of Bergeron screwdrivers with crisp strong tips helps too!

I had trouble getting mine out too. Based on comments here I used a hair dryer to warm them up, sprayed a bit of WD40 on and also changed up to use my Wera precision screwdrivers. Was ok after that lot.

Most of them can be forced to unscrew with consistent gradual pressure and a decent screwdriver, but some just wouldn't. I nearly stripped the screwhead groove on some. Focus applied heat with a lighter did loosen the threadlock in the end.
