It‘s a really beautiful watch but with a heavy heart I decided to cancel my order for the time being… went for a BPF submariner instead

Interesting watch despite the flaws.

One question for the team, how about crystal AR?
Inside only? I am addicted to 2AR crystals. :(

Thanks

Doubt that it has 2x AR crystals from all the videos I've seen. It wouldn't be gen like anyways. Gotta go to prof if you want that.

Yep, afraid so. Just wanted to check if some AR is present in the rep and how reflective that flat crystal is.
I'll have a look at the local dealers in the next days.

For what is worth Trusty says

FRONT GLASS: Colourless Double AR Sapphire Crystal, Swiss Standard Highest Clarity

Pics say otherwise though and gen comes with inside AR coating only if I am not mistaken

this is such a hilarious take. sunbursts are unisex lmao 🤣
It was a comment which was pretty much unanimous across the watch press when it was launched. The sun burst / brushed bezel was seen as making it more enticing to women - who also featured heavily in the launch video. You may chose to like it, or like me, would prefer it without. But don’t think of it as just my take.

I care way more about what you folks think abouut certain watches but I also remember the ads with women for the P39. Did it open the market?

I don’t think there is anyway of knowing. I have a FXD - a real one, and I was quite looking forward to the 39/40mm with bracelet. I was quite bummed when it came out - I think the brushed bezel is a bit of a gimmick and I hate the look of it - should have been matt like the original, and the sunburst was just really out of place - more appropriate on a Black Bay IMO which is much more of a unisex watch anyway, again - IMO. I’m hoping they make a blue one for W&W25, and hoping it has the same bezel and dial as the FXD, - ie, Matt, without trying to be pretty / clever, but I’m doubtful…

Maybe my fiancé and her friends are atypical, but I have never seen a woman express interest in a dive watch. It could be 36mm and it would still look masculine. The women I know like tiny little 27mm/31mm watches like the Cartier Panthere, if they even wear a watch at all.

Same. Manufacturers are actually pretty clueless at this sort of stuff. Most of their brand ambassadors make no sense whatsoever, and the same can be said for a lot of their advertising.
