I was looking at a gen 116610ln at a local cologne dealer (wempe) today and noticed that the bezel insert paint of the numbers is more low white then anything else, even though it shines kind of platinum in certain conditions. But it does NOT look silver like the new v5. I am wondering if the new noob is actually a downgrade! Do you guys agree??

I was vacationing in Hawaii last month and visited a Rolex AD by our hotel. I had the chance of trying on the latest Date and No-Date Subs here are some of the pictures I snapped for your comparison. Excuse the phone camera quality they were just quick snaps.
I am sure the bezel numbers appeared white due to direct lighting condition. Even a gen does not have perfect SEL[emoji19], see lower right lug.
The crown @12 under the bezel of Sub no date isn't centred... IMHO these SUB haven't ceramic bezel...

Yes they are gen, and yes they both have ceramic bezels, and yes, not always is the rehaut aligned with the 12 o clock index.
Hi sir, so you reckon it's necessary to do self ppm on the v5 to get a more Gen-like look?

Hi thanks for the reply, but read few posts already regarding engravings being too silver-ish.... A ppm mod will give it a better finishing and look, no?

I said no unless you can get my paint anitas and perform my permanent mod to perfection i use a loupe it wont look as good

I hope they make a no date version, I think it looks much better without the Cyclops. Personally at least it is much crisper to look at. Picture is of a Gen.
