Slightly off topic here, but can anyone shed some light as to the response time for Orloff to return an inquiry (email)? I sent one out about ten days ago.

Maybe try again. Usually by next day, maybe he didn't get it? Either that or this model of watch has clogged his account with requests!

Anyone had any issues returning the power reserve indicator to empty? I just received my blue numerals version from Sead and wore it all weekend. When it arrived, it was at about 5 days, so I manually wound it to 7 (where it stopped) and wore all weekend. I took it off on Sunday and threw it in the box, only to find it not running this AM but still on 5 days PR. I just gave it a quick swirl and it's running again but I'd like to PR meter to hit zero and just wear it to add natural PR instead of winding.

Are you serious? Do you know how a watch actually works?

Please don't give me your attitude bud. I'm quite aware at how watches work. I'm not even going to bother writing any more to you. Tool.

Actually I don't think you do know how a watch works. Natural PR? The PR indicator simply shows how much the mainspring is wound. The mainspring doesn't care if you do that through winding the crown (far more efficient and quicker) or by wearing it so that the rotor spins. The crown and rotor are both connected to the mainspring barrel directly and indirectly. To reduce the PR one simply needs to let the mainspring fully unwind and that can be done simply by not wearing the watch so that the rotor doesn't spin. However if the watch stops working when not worn that indicates a fault that needs rectifying.

Wasn't that easier? Also the watch was OFF my wrist for 48 hours.

But we already know this piece has about 3 or 4 days PR I think. I've not actually tested mine but I think that's right. So you need to leave it longer. But if stops working then that's a problem. And one that looks like becoming a bit too frequent. This movement does seem to be a bit temperamental and fragile.

Good news: after taking it off and leave it on the bench for about a total of 36 hours, I picked my beloved 5001 up and it was still running. Keeping perfect time. At the time that I picked it up, PR indicator was at 2.5 or 3.

zoomboy: it happened to me once before just like what you experienced. But in my case, i only rested it for 4-5 hours and it stopped working. I had to pick it up and shook it like crazy for it to work again. At that time, PR indicator was at 5-6. Ever since, it's never happened again *touch wood*

Not worn mine for a couple of days and it's still running fine. We really need someone to take it apart and do a detailed review of the movement. It could be a simple lubrication thing, or a weak design that the slightest component mismatch can be enough to stop it.

No ian, i didnt ask for more dates to be shown in QC. The date That they showed me in QC was very centred so I didnt ask. But thats ok, im not really upset about this. Almost all my reps have quite bad dwo. Today is actually the worst, other dates didnt seem so bad.
I've also noticed that it (dwo) gets better in the afternoon as well.

Mine is a bit better... just by a tiny bit...

Curious, I will look carefully again tomorrow morning, it feels like the date wheel was more to the right this morning at 7.30 than now at 1.45

Why does it looks like everyone has a different level of misaligned datewheel although all came from same fac? (assuming mostly are ZF owner here)

I always ask for a few dates at least. A few single digits and a few double digits. 1/7/15/22/28/31. Most TDs will do this for you without problems.

Do you feel your hour 10 is off alignment? My QC picture looks just like that... Feels slanted towards upper right instead of level.. Not sure if just QC photography or not..

To me, that is so not noticeable unless you get a ruler and look 3-4 inch away from your eye. The date however, is a totally different story.

The crooked "10" markers and misaligned date wheel are the most common issues with the ZF. It looks like they fixed other marker problems for the most part, especially the "1" marker.

But on the bright side, at least IMO, the date font looks more like the gen than I've seen in other rep photos. Character thickness looks a bit finer.

Is it possible to tweak the position of the date in the window by carefully nudging via the crown?

And by the way, what does the 'o' stand for in 'dwo'?
