I have to agree. I have just received my tanned brown croc straps for my PAM111 from one of the vietnamese makers. I can't say the quality is top class but for that kind of price, i have to say I am happy (but not surprisingly overjoyed).
Finally, as a piece of advice, it is either you ask them not to punch any hole or you tell them exactly where to punch and how many holes to punch (including spacing between holes). I am saying this from my own "not so pleasant" experience.

I am still waiting for the straps from VNHANDCRAFT.
I know that I cannot expect much but I am hoping for a positive surprise

sent from.... none of your business ;)
With VN what you see is what you get. There should be no surprises or disappointments other than the long assed wait for delivery.
FWIW $35 would not get a greay cow leather strap.

Anyway did a comparison of some of the straps that I have, starting with the blue ones first.

Dark%2520Blue.jpg

Top is Santoni, followed by gen IWC (Kaufmann), Hadley Roma and LPV.

Santoni is of cos top notch in every sense. Excellent cut, amazing patterns, soft and very comfortable despite the thinness.

Kaufmann/gen IWC is excellent but Hadley Roma is on par. Both has very good cuts and patterns and comfortable with padding.

LPV has the worst cut, and not cheaper than Kaufmann or HR. You gotta be insane to even consider LPV with so many options available.

Next up are the brown straps.

Again Santoni starts the show. Amazing in all aspects, the tanning is a whole different level and comes with the best cut and finish. Get it if you can afford one!

I did not have any Kaufmann brown straps, so the next 2 are actually Hadley Roma ones. First is the standard chestnut brown which is very nicely tanned and beautiful cut. Comfortable to wear too.

The next is actually a hornback alligator strap from HR, which I believe has been discontinued. Might not be the best fit for IWC since hornback skins are made famous by AP. Still it is a beautiful strap and very different from the usual browns. Cut is beautiful and amazing finish.

Last is LPV, done in Santoni style. This brown is actually a lot more forgiving than the matt blue, where all the flaws ere exposed so easily. It says Santoni style but it is nowhere near their quality/finishing and looks pretty crude. Tan is uneven and cut is so so poor. Also lacks the polished sheen on genuine Santoni.

Thanks for sharing. I agree, I would not buy another LPV strap due to my experience also.

I am waiting for one I ordered but I have a feeling I won't be ordering another one. I do not have high expectations!

Hey guys, my watch has been acting quite funny these past few days. I winded my watch on Saturday afternoon and the power reserves drop to 6 days in less than 10 hours, and then went back up to 7 days. That cycle repeated itself and I still had 7 days power reserve on Tuesday night. But right now my power reserves is at 4 days.

This has never happened before in the 2-3 weeks I've owned the watch. I'm thinking the power reserve may actually lasts me 7 days this time. Lucky me?

did you wear the watch daily? It's automatic so when you wear it, movement will wind the rotor and generate PR therefore PR will increase depends on how many time you swing your wrist.

Looks promising... But I am not sure if it really can be trusted.
However, if this is close to what it will be once the watch arrives it seems like a movement with a good calibration.

So my watch is scheduled to be delivery today from Ryan. The amazing thing about this is the watch was only shipped 2 days ago from Hong Kong via DHL, I live in California, this still baffles my mind. I can't wait to see it and will post photo once it arrives.

We know that the gen dial feet won't match the rep movement, but how about gen hands? Does anybody know?

Watch out for customs charges with DHL. I've read multiple members getting hit at the door for another $50 USD.

Is it only me or is the "10" croocked? I also notice the Date seems off? It leans?
Should I ask for another one?
