Does Andrew know whether or not the Milanese band will be more accurately replicated?

Would like to know if the dial was also changed as it appears here.

Is anyone else considering getting this $95 DHGate copy for the SS band?

The thought had crossed my mind. But it's still a crap mesh. It looks worse than the mesh VSF made. It looks too thin. VSF's mesh at least looks more like a standard quality mesh and is relatively thick as it should be. The only saving grace that the DHGATE mesh has is the deployant clasp but who knows how good or poor the quality is on that clasp. So i'd probably hold off spending 95 on that DHGATE watch for the mesh bracelet till VSF gets the mesh right and adds the deployant clasp.

I’m literally going to hold out for the authentic one despite the $1200 price tag. It’s worth it to me. Let’s just hope they decide to sell it separately.

Lucky lucky guy!! You own the Gen?? Very nice choice. have you also gotten a rep?

Not yet but definitely will pick one up at some point (might wait for a v3—hopefully that's not too far away) for some comparison photos!

Okay you have the gen, (amazing by the way, super jealous) please tell us, or me for that matter because I seem to be the only one who questions it. In person, under multiple light sources, do the stripes in the NATO have a green hue to it where the Rep clearly appears to be grey only?

No I don't really see any greenish colour at all, just a kinda gunmetal grey.

Here's a shot I just took in the daylight/non-direct sunlight as opposed to the nighttime/artificial light photo from yesterday. Gotta say, the colours of the v2 in the pictures I've seen aren't too far off the gen in lighting like this—the rep unfortunately just doesn't have the brown/tropical look of the gen in direct light.

You ought to get a rep and do a comparison..LOL.. By the way be careful, you forgot to screw down the crown in that pic.

Another question mates, about the bezel engravings color and lumen, is there any way that it might fade during time?
Sent from my iPhone using RWI

Well seeing as the bezel is aluminum, its sure to fade/age over the years. For the gen, that's the whole point of why Omega used an aluminium bezel. I think they mentioned somewhere in one of the interviews as to why they chose to go with an aluminium bezel. So it fades and ages nicely. How the rep would age though, only time will tell.

Just unscrewed it for an unobscured face in last night and this morning's photos—I certainly don't leave it like that all the time :)

Ahhh its such a beauty thankyou for taking all these photos!

i really thought we wouldn't be able to find someone with a gen to be able to compare. Its really impossible to tell alot of flaws until you place it next to the genuine..

For instance i didn't even notice the minute markers where so different in V1 to V2 it really changes the whole dial spacing and look.

Can't believe I only noticed this now, but it would appear that the bezel insert misalignment is common on this V2 rep. It was fine on the V1. Even the pics at Trusty website of the V2 has a very misaligned bezel insert, very similar to the misaligned bezel insert on my QC pics I received. The markers on the insert don't line up centered with the pointed outer edge of the scalloped bezel. They're at least 3 to 4mm off.

I don't think this was an issue on the many other SMP's VSF has done before this.

Why do you guys always do this, use photoshop to line things up.. You understand the concept of perspective right? Unless the photo is taken at a perfect 90 degree angle from the glass things don't line up. Clearly the photo on top the watch is tilted back a bit, look at the lug length top compared to bottom. This will make the bezel number raise since it higher than the dial. Hell if you want to be that picky, even the gen photo the 15 and 20 markers are are off.

I think he means the bezel insert position inside the bezel itself, it’s nowhere near centred.

Ahh ok, then I stand corrected, that is definitely off, but Id imagine this is a case by case basis, rather than batch related to V2 specifically.

I would think so too it just looks like sloppy QC and tbh it’s probably something you can sort out yourself but you shouldn’t need to do that.

Yep, assembling issue I’d say

I don’t see it, even in your pic here.

Anyway it’s probably (for me) the nicest watch omega have made in a while, perfect balance of vintage style on a modern day watch. I’d say having the gen you owe it to this thread to make a comparison;)

Where are you based?
