I've never met a Russian so I have no opinion, of course, but the other Germans posting plus the Canadian are exactly how I remember the ones I met.

If the crystal is one of the main concerns with the RF, maybe just order a crystal from a different maker alongside with the watch and swap them?
But from what maker and would it fit.

I think it is the top edge of the crystal that is higher/taler than it should be. Someone posted this earlier. Obviously no one knows if that’s the only problem.
But if i would try another crystal, what is the recommendation?

I just received mine now - after a Halloween-style-horror-episode with the courier that delivered it to another address a few blocks away, thankfully managed to get it back!

Bearing in mind that this is literally the first rep I’ve ordered, and the fact that I’ve never seen a VSF before let alone a gen, but I think this thing is crazy beautiful!

Yes, it just “feels” good, the clasp, bracelet, bezel all just great.

I do have callipers a and the height measures 13.2mm, I also have a decent Canon R5 and an RF macro 100mm so I should be able to take good photos - (but too excited right now!) just specify which part you’re after and I’ll do my best!

Why ? If he thinks there is only one issue for him and is easily solved, why order a watch from a different factory that may have 3 or 5 issues ?

We don’t even know what crystal to order or if it will work even fix the issue. To me it’s not worth it and every time I see this RF sun it’s the first thing that pops out. So either you buy the watch and figure out how to fix the crystal, a very noticeable flaw in my humble opionolm, or you wait / go with another factory that has less noticeable flaws. I don’t think the other options currently available have these 3 - 5 glaring flaws TBH.

Just not worth it to me. But if you really like the RF look and can live with the crystal/figure out what to replace, all the power to you!

I wear my reps to impress me not others.
So what’s important to me is the quality feel and finish, not how close to gen it is.
Ironically tough, most of the time the closer to gen it is, the better the quality…
So basically what i am looking for is the best feeling Sub.
And the RF seems for now the best option in that regard, or so i thought. Still looking forward to the direct comparison with the clean.
I don’t mind if the crystal sits a little higher, but if the AR and build quality is bad i do.
So, that’s why i was planing on buying the RF alongside maybe Clean hands (no rough edges) and if i can do the same with the crystal why not.
It is extremely hard to tell just from pictures what factory produces a decent crystal. Hence my question to the community.
Especially because others might benefit from that information as well.

For me, the fundamental and indispensable characteristics of a 'Submariner' are:
-bezel
-crystal and magnifying lens
-case thickness
-bracelet
The dial, hands, date disc, crown and flange engraving are all elements that can only be observed under a microscope.
This RF unfortunately does not have all the features that for me are essential.... in fact my wait did not repay my expectations.
I trust in other factories!
