New EXPLORER I 214270 39MM BP

Hi all, thinking about getting one of those. What version is recommended? 904 or 316? How is the clone movement BP uses in those? I love the one I have in my VSF sub so if it's the same quality I'll opt for the clone movement and not the ETA.

Any advice is appreciated!

I don't think it's due to angle or lighting because only recent QC photos have this hollow effect. And there's no hollow effect on the hour markers other than 3, 6 and 9 of the same watch.

It really seems there is this hollow effect compares to GEN. I don’t own REP of previous version, so I can’t justify whether it’s a recent flaw or it’s a constant thing.

Same here. Almost no lume glow of 3, 6 and 9 markers in the dark. But on the wrist it is not that visible fortunately (or at least I am trying to convince myself)...

I am reading the whole thread but there are things that are not clear to me. It would appear that the BP is a good (possibly very good) version, do you confirm? On the movement question I have some more doubts: how is the 2836? reliable and safe movement? I'm not going to make subsequent edits or movement changes (because I'm not good at them and I don't want to call anyone to do it) but I would like a safe movement.

I have seen many photos in the thread, even the photos sent by my td and I always seem to see that the lumen in the hands is lighter (white) than the indexes. do you confirm? is it a problem of all bp? is it noticeable on the wrist or is it only seen in large photos?

I just got my bp explorer i yesterday. Unfortunately, my watch has the wrong crown. Can anyone please advice me the correct crown part number, crown spec or crown dimension? Then I will try to find the correct crown and replace it. Thank you very much.

I got a BP 316 with A2836 movement. The consensus on this thread is that A2824 can be swapped with ETA.

But..

Has anyone succeeded in swapping A2836 with ETA? Is this even possible? I’ve read A2836 is thicker due to the date wheel.

It’s a direct swap with an ETA 2836. During the process, all the calendar related parts can be removed as they won’t be needed in an Explorer.
