I received my BB Black yesterday from Ryan. Great quality from him as usually and thought I would share a pic.
It is much different and more distinguished looking than the Blue one I have. Compared to the gen from the pictures @droptopman has shared it looks like it lacks texture on the dial, which I heard was similar to the Red. Both the red triangle and the hands vary in different lighting. Overall it's what I expected. I am going to keep it in the plastic for a few days as I ponder ordering the black bay One.
No it isn't, and that's because they aren't NATOs. They're jacquard woven fabric straps, and there's no comparison. The finishing of the hardware is worth every penny. I have the blue/white/orange strap for the THCB and the camo strap for the Ranger. The straps take the watches from nice reps to watches I'll never sell. I understand they're not everyone's cuppa, but it's inarguable that they're worth the money.360 for a nato is crazy
Chasing time Ken has the oneOverall quite amazing rep. and makes me hope for the "One". As much as I love the original red Tudor Blackbay, I was always wishing to see it with the other hands as well (and some red lettering on the dial is the icing on the cake).
Like on some other reps if the gen was a picture, this is a fotocopy: all is there, a little bit less crisp, a little bit less colourful etc. as pointed out. The biggest difference to me remains the crystal, height, refraction and sharpness of the gen are really beautiful and the rep lacks/ is different in that department. It would be great for someone to discover which alternative Clarks or WSO crystal and gasket could be used (if it exists) on the Blackbays.
Huge thanks to Droptopman (really a gen to go for and Fradisch (also a rep to go for for the respective pics so we can form our first opinions. Fantastic and very helpful!
