In no way would I be so blasphemous and answer this on @legend's behalf, but if my memory serves me right, "Legend's Basic Rule Book Of AP Reps" says, under section A34 sub section 3, chapter 12 of the "Basic Rules Of AP Rep Dial Colours" on page 672, a little poem says:

Green and Blue, you better not do
Black and White, you may be right

Having said that, it’s a flaw which we can see in forum pics but it’s not very significant in real life.

Exactly. Superimposed macro shots aren't RL.

But also, your eyes will pick up tiny little differences that most others won't even when they're looking at comparison pics.

It's a gift... And a curse, at the same time. 😆

Im not here to pronounce judgement on the rep 26240CE but simply to share my first hand experience.
I’ve so far handled a sample size of 5 26240CEs and 4 of them arrived with bracelet first links/lugs with cracks in them. The cases themselves seem ok so far.
From what I know, APSF is working to provide replacements for the bracelets and/or cases so we will have to wait and see if the replacements are any better. For what it’s worth, the gen 26240CEs are relatively fragile too and like I mentioned, when I collected my watch from the boutique, there was a service center specialist present just to resize the bracelet for me.
This is a $100k watch in gen and the rep is $1000. So let’s be grateful for its release and allow for the factory to fix the flaws. It’s not to late to condemn the release when the rectification efforts fail.
Like Bionone mentioned, this is a very difficult material to work with, beautiful and hardy as it may be. Wear the gen, swing the wrist against a wall hard enough and it will crack like how ceramic is supposed to crack. The gen material also isn’t protected by some magic which renders it invincible. Ceramic is hard to scratch and almost impossible to stain and weather proof. It’ll look good with minimal maintenance even 8-10 years later but this comes with a price.
It’s funny how everyone was rushing to buy the ceramic release with the majority handling the watch like it’s stainless steel. Ceramic requires extra care to handle and it’s best to leave the bracelet resizing to the experts, or do it VERY carefully.
I have faith that the material issue will be resolved. Expect to see a fair share of cracks and breakages but I think it’s a beautiful watch worth waiting for.
Not an AP..but Gen Aerofusion Moonphase…just providing a case in point like @legend is saying. I don’t know if I’d consider any ceramic an every day wearer if you’re even remotely clumsy or prone to hard watch usage. But with that said, it’s an incredible effort and if they can fix the bracelet connection issue then it’s probably one of the most innovative (ironic word for a rep) reps ever!

Ceramic is brittle. While scrach and oil resistant, it's easy to chip. The edges on the links near the pins will be a weak spot. As well as the bezel with the holes drilled in.

I'm certain that the quality of the ceramic will improve over time. By this I don't mean the material, but the manufacturing process. It seems like the machining is done somwhat worng, so that micocracks are fomed during manufacturing and the bracelet and possibly the case might crack from a minor impact.

The Ceramic one is on my wish list, but I'll wait for a while to see if it improves.
VSF seems to do a very decent job on ceramic case Panerais incl. the ceramic bracelet on the 438, so I'm hopefull APS (or the supplier) will be able to improve.

Well, if you look at some of those stories of horrific accidents with gen CE watches (I recall one in particular on the Omega gen forum: A DSOTM was accidentally dropped from a few centimeters only onto the edge of a beer glass and cracked its case, resulting in several Ks of damage) it seems that the rep manufacturers aren't doing all that badly.

Those things are just delicate by design, even if they costs tens of thousands.

Swatch learned a thing or two and went Bioceramic ;) ...

Have we come full circle now? LOL

Yeah that bezel alone was somewhat emotional to fix.

I’m thinking there’s not a lot more to say about this iteration until @legend gets his hands on them!

P.S: The techs at AP must wince in equal level trepidation to the sales person’s glee when Legend walks through the door to pick up a watch and/or talk anything technical 🤣
