Where I need to be.
I like the ceramic... I really would have bought it but I've seen chipped bracelets and the broken bracelet issue doesn't inspire huge confidence in me. Maybe in 6 months I'll get one
The ceramic colors of the gen and rep are actually different as well, with the gen color being a deeper black.
Also the tactile feel of both gen and rep are very different, with the rep being a lot rougher especially around the edges.
Seen and felt alone, these are not issues but next to the gen, the differences are very obvious.

The gen dial markers are white gold and the rep uses polished stainless steel.
I know some members swear that they can tell the difference about 1m away but I’m not as talented.
If I inspect them under loupe I can likely tell white gold from stainless but in real life on the wrist they look the same to me. This is just my personal experience. You need to decide for your own how “close” they are.
It’s no problem to plate the dial markers with white gold. Just depends on the material of the dial face.

I agree with yoy my friend, can't tell the difference on hand at regular eyesight

Someone on Reddit mentioned issues with this model:

1. The rotor “unwinds”. It moves fast to deplete the power reserve.

How do I test this? My rotor looks like it moves fast with a single shake. I thought it was just well lubricated.

Do those sunken plots annoy the hell out of you? They do me (on mine). I'm shopping around for various plots to see if I can find something to fit my 26240 more flush.
Sorry, I’m German and my English maybe a little rusty. What do you mean by “sunken plots”? The 2 “connection links” between case and strap?

Yes correct. The plots aren't flush to the case. They are recessed or sunken. I've since discovered the apsf cases will be like this with gen spec plots. It requires apsf specific plots to sit properly/flush.

The power reserve seems fine to me. It lasts much longer than the AP skeleton

Finally got around assembling my build:

- Solid 18k gold case & 50th ann. rotor.
- Gen dial & datewheel.
- APS movement and hands.
- Custom crystal.

Custom gold case matches perfectly with the gen plots, and APS hands match pretty well with the gen indexes.

Case, which was initially designed to fit gen movement, took in the APS movement perfectly.

Where did you source the case?

Is it really though? I remember seeing someone around first release buying the rep black and comparing it with his genuine and he said it was indistinguishable.
