Hor-Fan Dizzy Hello there i was browsing vietnam parts for vintage 6542 project and came across with this website http://rubyswatch.com and parts look identical to the vintage rolex gmts from TSWatch.I think they use them as suplier and when they claim its "handmade" what they are doing is modifying dial feet for the eta calibre movements and aging hands and dial.

Ruby's (in fact nearly all Vietnam) 6542 dials are of the snap-on variety to fit gen movements like 1030/1065/1066. They don't have dial feet.

Plus, the Ruby caseset (midcase, caseback, bezel, bakelite insert, tube, crystal) is about $650.

Oh thanks for teaching me something i didn't knew and bezel still looks good from my own behalf.

link and images worked for me.
I think that looks pretty good.. much nicer than the pics on the site.
all the lume matches and it appears that they aged the insert.
the gilt on the dial looks better in these pics too....

I just pulled the trigger on their "Hand Made" version of this watch, I'll be documenting the process here - https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...-ts-watch-vinatge-rolex-ref-6542-watch-review

Depending on how this process goes, hopefully it can help inform everyone's buying decisions here too.

Hor-Fan - you mentioned there was a specific shipping method which was safest for these watches?

I left that to Miffy, I would have preferred express shipping but she/he said DHL was too risky at the moment and shipped by
airmail instead, so I guess I’m in for a 2-3 week wait. C’est la vie, just hoping it gets out of China before CNY.

Fyi, I've ordered one of these - I've always lusted after a Tripdog build, but have an issue with the price given the spec I want (the price of the parts I mean, I've certainly no issue with Trip's reasonable fee). I'm hoping this will scratch the itch enough to stop me spending megabucks on the build I really want. I'll update you guys with any QC pics, once approved, and assuming I get mod approval (if TSwatch even send them).

Legend!

Do any of you fine folks who ordered the watch have a genspec dial to try it out on? The fitment will be final factor if this thing is trash or finally a low cost alternative

I have VN albino panam @ 27.3mm that I’m hoping will fit, I’ll dismantle the watch shortly after receiving it (after a few wristies, of course)

I have a Tripdog 6542 Serpico Red Depth, and it is awesome....the feeling is as for a REAL vintage one, a rare piece of art.....
But this of TS is a good choice for a low budget, if u take one of this and fall in love with the watch.....soon you will need to order one from Trip ;-)

Looks really nice! I am guessing this will cost ~USD1200 to 1500?

kilowattore Am I okay to post my (already approved) QC pics in here to assist potential buyers?

FYI I went for the 'handmade' version because I was curious!

Would love to see one or two. Mostly the dial close up of the 'handmade'

If I get Mod approval, I'll put them all up - though I warn you now, they're not the best QC pics - fairly low Res, not close up....

I think it's allowed as long as not asking for qc advice. People doing it for the black bay 58 as it was highly anticipated
