AR looks pretty good on yours. I think that all of the 45.5mm are different.

I bought mine thinking that a 45.5mm can't be that much bigger than my UPO. Boy was I wrong. To me this wears almost like my DSSD as far as heft goes.

Concerning the 45mm AR, I think it depends of the point of view of the pictures ;) For me it's not as catastrophic as we thought from the QC pics and that's why depending on the picture orientation you can have different visual result. The main point is that the 45mm AR is not as good as the 42 but not as catastrophic as we thought in the QC pics. Nevertheless, I decided to do a new AR on my 45 Ceramic ! I'll let you know once I got it back...

I agree with eric, it's all in the photos and how the light is when taking the pics. Direct strong light in the qc process makes it show up really reflective. Also home pics depend on how good a photographer is at decreasing those reflections.

As it is, it is still a great watch but I'm still hoping the factories do something with it (make it the same as the 42mm!)... in the long run as I'd hate to think we see it as acceptable that they coat one version and not the other.

AR is one of those things that is hard to compare 1:1 in pics, but overall when the 45mm has AR similar to the 42mm then we will notice that 'no crystal effect' much more.

Just posting up more photos ...

pearl shot - just happy my one doesn't stick out
P7x9rt6l.jpg

on wrist shot - it's not too big but i've got asian wrists, but not skinny. this probably shows the single AR best under florescent lighting in the office
nZ81PNOl.jpg

clasp - the clasp is better built than the v5 clasp i have. the bracelet doesn't seem to have the gap at the SEL. the only gripe is that when they engraved the omega logo and text they didn't smooth it out after engraving.

back shot with the awesome liquid metal logo... something that not everyone will see but just decided to include it in.

a couple of direct photos of the watch

all in all - i'm happy with the watch and especially for the price. for those being picky about the AR compared with the v5 then don't get it but you can possibly replace the crystal with a gen (which would probably be the only thing i would do if i really really needed to)!

Hey guys, been following this thread with great interest. Am I the only one that's seeing the pearl placement on the 42mm version as being pretty terrible here? I've gotten 2 different sets of QC pictures and they both looked about like this:

I've rejected both...am I being too picky here? I'm thinking about asking for a pumpkin or a different model altogether.

Really? I mean, everything else looks great it's just the pearl seems so far off to me that's all I see. Every gen 8500 has a centered pearl in the little triangle. Most of the reps pictured here are centered too. The QC pics I've gotten have had the pearl basically resting on the lower parts of the triangle in the bezel.

yeah, agree - pearl placement sucks on the 42s from all the pics i've seen, though they somehow managed to get it slightly less sucky on the 45s. how hard is it to find the center of a triangle?

Received my 45mm Ceramic PO yesterday.

I must say it's in global a really nice rep. The AR has to be done again but is clearly not as catastrophic as it looks in the QC pictures (this said I'll have it done quickly I think...).

The bezel works fine, the global feeling is impressive. I gave it a quick comparison check with a collegue that has the Skyfall PO and it's really nice. A little darker ceramic on this one, different AR and less decorated movement. But the funny thing is that had to ask him to compare otherwise he wouldn't have seen it !!!

Last point, the lume is quite great for me too. Not the bigger superlume I ever seen but clearly not ridiculous and in fact much better than some supposed rep superlume...

Here some iPhone pics (had no time to do better ones...)

and an iPhone lume shot

what'd u do to make your lume like that? mine look not nearly as bright as that after abt a minute under the LED light..

I honestly hope it is not. 1. They leak. 2. I would never trust this to dive that deep. 3. They may leak. ;)

First off, greetings everyone. This will be my first post and despite being somewhat of a newbie, I have done my best to find the answers to my various questions using the search function thus far.

I have one question however that hopefully someone here can help with - are there any TD's based in Hong Kong who are likely to selling the 42mm versions of this watch? I'm currently on assignment in the Philippines and the postal system here is not to be trusted with anything of value, but as I have a trip lined up to HK next month I figured I'd try to be smart and pick one up in person.

Thanks in advance.

Hey atallcosts, I think you'll find that Ryan from intime.co is based in Hong Kong and has plenty of positive reviews. Not sure about in-person transactions though but I'm sure he can tell you more :)
