My Experience with Trusty Time as a Non TD Here

Andrew and Josh were selling asian clones as swiss as far as I remember.

Doesn't seem as big a deal these days with Swinese movements being about as good as you cn hope for if ordering "swiss"

This is incorrect as all the dealers were doing this.
It more revolved around price fixing and bullying dealers to keep prices high.

Back to the regular schedule program. I tried Andrew also, the Coronet on the bracelet was crooked. Andrew did send a replacement bracelet that would not stay latch.....

I am really hoping he will send me a replacement bracelet too, as the fault with my glidelock is the part of the bracelet, not the clasp.

TT and PC are still trusted on other sites. My dealing with either of them in the past was good.

All the dealers sell the same watches for the most part, and most probably to this day dont really stock anything. You order, they go and get it, they send pics for qc, you approve then the ship.

I find it humorous and interesting that after all these years we are still talking about this stuff.

These dealers we have here is all i need. And most if not all dont drop ship.
All i have to do is send a pic out to a few dealers and at least one or two will source the piece without any problems.Im a member at Rep,Geek,RWG but only deal with the dealers here at RWI this is my home sweet home.

I was not saying that the Swiss?Asian issue was the reason they were removed from the TD list (for that matter, I am not even saying that Asian movements are bad, enough experience by other members on these boards show that they are not). I am just saying that I am made, personally, uncomfortable by an offer, and a charge, to do something that they (probably) cannot do.

All that being said, I may make a purchase from TT next month and, based on his status on other sites, I actually expect to get what I order. The bad part is that my intent to purchase is validation of his "Cartel" model.

I, like most others here realize that none of these dealers make anything; however, the Cartel seems to have access to models that are, in a small number of cases, not being offered to other dealers. Of course I will look throughly before any purchase to see if it is carried by any of the TDs' (in the case of Trevor, I will just send him a letter asking).

(Just as a comment, the watch I am talking about is the 1675 GMT, there seems to be a consensus that, at the present, TT's open 6 and 9 is the most accurate version on the market. I hope that by next month some of the TDs' are also offering that model)

I guess I just don't understand what you are trying to say, but I have seen pretty much every TD on this forum offer Asian or Swiss movements on the order page of numerous watches. Omega, Rolex, Panerai, Breits and so forth with Swiss or Asian movements, selectable via a drop down menu on the order page. So your issue is that you don't think they can actually get ahold of a Swiss movement? You shouldn't buy from any dealer then if that makes you uncomfortable, TD or otherwise, because they pretty all offer this. It's ok for Trevor and other TDs to offer this but not Trusty Time? How is it different when TDs offer Swiss or Asian movements compared to TT?

I'm genuinely curious, I want to understand.

How bout this: Everyone buy from which ever dealer you like. If a deal goes sour, the Mods here may be able to help get it sorted out if its a TD here, and cannot offer any assistance if its not.
This doesn't mean that our TDs are definitively the very very bestest dealers available anywhere at any price, and anyone is welcome at any time to spend their money where they wish.
We don't all have to agree. And if in the future it is decided that we must indeed all agree, my opinions will be the standard by which all others must conform.

The swiss/asian issue goes back pretty far.
In a nut shell, certain dealers were advertising swiss in the watches, and a well known watch modder had one and the movement was asian. It was the first we started to see of the "clone" movements. Alot of us speculated that we had been getting asian clone movements for longer then we knew. It was also discovered that alot of the swiss movements were used/old and some had asian parts.

TT nor PC were removed for these reasons, although they were implicated along with other dealers for doing this.

There were a couple of threads discussing this, but its far enough back into the old forum on the old server I dont think they exist anymore.

I am taking that as, you wouldn't buy from a dealer that says they can offer a Swiss movement. If that is correct, then you have a problem because all the TD's offer that on a lot of watches

Interesting, thanks for that. Personally I don't care why they got removed, plenty of people on this forum alone have recent dealings with them with no issue, buy from whoever you want, I say.

Thats cool and is exactly what should happen. I do want you to remember something though, if the watch wasn't sent to you damaged in the first place you wouldn't have to be waiting on a replacement bracelet to come in.

Look, he did the right thing by taking care of you but a bit of checking the watch first and all that would have been avoided. I've also had all positive deals with him years ago and have nothing bad to say about his personal service, infact its quite good. Problem is its dropped shipped so you get what you get.

Alot of these dealers do the drop ship crap even if they tell you otherwise. Good to hear your getting what you need and its always nice to have a spare bracelet anyways. Good looking watch, I forgot mention that.

Cheers, sadly the triangle marker @12, and the marker at 9 need fettling, as they are both off. My Lume show shows this clearly..

It's my bad as didn't notice it on my QC photos due to the watch being at an angle.
