Why Peter Gunny and Vibtage watches go together

Here's that B&R I built a few weeks ago. I trawled through Peter Gunny's web site looking for just the right strap. He and I worked together and came up with the Le Mans, but cut for a B&R, and with a different leather. His product is nothing short of stunning and does wonders for my watch. He was, as before, a gentlemnan to work with. Damn, his stuff is good!

I completely agree, his stuff is awesome. There are some supremely talented strap makers on this forum (Donerix comes to mind especially), but I can't seem to buy anything but a Gunny Caitlin 2 or 4.

Nice looking strap Nielsen! You have an awesome combo there.

Thanks for the compliments. Now I need a bit of help: the second hand scrapes along the top of the minute at certain time--typically when the minute hand is somewhere in the 12-4 positions. This implies to me that something isn't quite straight, but the fit between the bottom of the glass and the top of the minute hand is so tight that changing anything may be impossible--or at least very difficult. Is there some way to lower the movement or something? Any suggestions how to tackle this? I am, incidentally, using the standard movement that came with the B&R.

Remove the movement and watch the movement from parallel to identify where your point of likely contact is. Then either remount the hand which isn't straight or remove the hands and bend minutely. You'll never see it once mounted if you're careful

Rob gave the same advice I would...

How about a high domed plexi for some extra room? :) I might love that watch even more!

It would look very cool indeed, but I can't do plexi because I tend to be pretty hard on my watches and will immediately scratch it. I realize that scratches on the crystal are merely 'patina', but I just don't like scratched crystals....... A high domed crystal does sound awfully cool though. Yes sireeee.

Speaking of which: I'm pretty sure my B&R doesn't have any AR and I'd like to get some put on the crystal. What can I expect to pay and who do people recommend?
