Movement swap

I have REF Datejust 41 with an 23j automatic movement decorated to 3235 movement. I've been told the mainspring is faulty and that it would be more practical To have the movement replaced. Can you replace it with a 2836 or better movement?

depends on what base movement was used (usually DG2813) a movement swap to an ETA movement is commercially not feasible as you may need different dial, different hands, different movement holder so you are probably better off just buying a new watch with Asia 2824/2836

or just do a 1:1 movement replacement with the same one

You cannot swap it easily with a 2836, movements are different: not the same diameter, hands holes are not equally positioned, the date window will not fit.

I think you will have to find another 3235.
