Most likely this is the same POS SA3135 BP/GMF has always used, updated only with fake deco parts and engravings to look more like the 3235. GMF is not going to rep a double tooth escape wheel or use a longer mainspring with thinner barrel walls, and the balance shock absorbers are not updated like the gen.

If you can find a video of one showing time setting (Trusty), that would be telling as the gen 32xx movements advance hands forward by turning the crown anti-clockwise.

Agree KJ2020

This one look poorly made, to good to be true.
TSW say that this is a 3235clone, but they dont know if gen parts fits?_?
We will wait and see.

I have my eyes on these watches for about a week or so now. I hope that sometime in the future they have movement V2 with better finishing and better shock absorber like they did in the VR3135. I understand that GMF and VR are totally different factory, but at least then the movement will be availble on the market for replacement/ modding. Also, does any one notes that “OTY” in the “Thirty-OTY-ONE” lines above? Wrong spelling or it is there in the gen movement also? I thought it is very weird that they does that.

Other than the power reserve, the 3235 is a far less robust movement than others (like the 3135). It is smaller and louder. I keep hoping Rolex figures out a way to improve it and get back to their roots a bit anyway. Which is a long shot I’m sure.

I heard from many people those who own a gen DJ 3235 said the rotor is louder than the original 3135. Also, the moment is not fully mounted to the case. It's separated by the spacer, which is less superior compared to the fully mounted 3135. I think it's shame but, it's Rolex, they have to cut the even to promotes a better model sale. And you can see the gap between the movement and the case here at the article from Bob's watches

Per Trusty's website even Noob has released newer DJ41 models with this clone movement. Per the pics, the finish quality is terrible.

Can a 2824 case (ARF 126334 DJ 41) take on this 3235 Clone movement?

I dont know yet, but I saw they have the new 3235 clone available on the market to buy already. Not sure it will fit or not.

Right, I am seeing some listings on ebay. I have to admit, those engravings are so bad that I can't see them for more than a sec :( Such poor finish.

I will just wait for the next batch come out. For now, I am staying with the VR3135. Even though I really like the new white dial they have for the new DJ. Cant drop 13 grand for a gen at this moment either. Lol. Hope they have a better movement soon.

Hey mate, I've only just stumbled upon this thread but I have the GMF DJ with the 3235 clone, can confirm turning the crown clockwise advances the hands forward. Quick set date is SUPER sensitive and if I'm adjusting the time passed 12 it will jump two days instead of the normal one. Just received the watch a couple days ago.

Thanks for the confirmation bro. This is an SA3135 with fake 3235 engraving. Nothing to see here folks. Replacing it with a VR3135 would be a good move. A 2824 should fit, though you would need new hands and have to mod the dial feet.

Thanks for this man, how easy would it be to source/install a VR3135?

Since its based on SA3135 (and since both gen 3135 and 3235 have same diameter), VR3135 should be an easy and direct replacement on the GMF case. The one thing we need to check is thickness because deco rotors are thicker than gen spec. However as KJ mentioned, I would put a gen ETA 2824-2 (brand new $160-$175 on ebay) if it fits. Same as a new VR3135 price but way way better in terms of long term reliability and finish. There is a bunch of DJ hands for 2824 on sale in ebay.

You are making the right move here, this GMF 3235 is a real POS ;)

Appreciate this information kindly, given I don't have the tools nor the expertise I will likely pass this information on to my watchmaker and make the appropriate purchase. And yes it's worrying that this is the first rep I've purchased to start having problems within a week of owning it, my others are running just fine!

Hi @SvNZ I'm looking for a DJ 36 126234 with jubilee, fluted bezel, black dial and diamonds on the dial, and I've started to take in consideration to purchase the new GMF 904L with A3235 movement, but hearing this opinion of yours, I have serious doubts about. Which model had you purchased from GMF?

I bought the Dark Rhodium stick dial variant, yes I'm aware it doesn't currently exist but it's my watch, I'm not buying it for anyone else lol

Of course. It must be your own watch, so doesn't it matter anything else. I like it. From which factory is it?
