Most Gen-Like Sub Rehaut Engravings

Is there a sub with gen-like rehaut engravings or at least in the ball-park with regards to not just font but probably more important the outline font style?

I know there are many 'tells' when it comes to reps, but to me this just seems to be the quickest dead giveaway that you're wearing a rep, almost to the point that all the other mods seem pointless - but this is just my opinion and I understand others won't share it and I respect that.

I'm aware TC shaves the rehaut (or did anyway), I'm guessing it's to hide the poor engravings, but doesn't that customization also make it less gen-like? Unlike some, I actually do like the engravings on a gen sub...

The engravings are pretty hard to see on the wrist, if you handed it over to someone who has a gen on or who knows a lot about Rolex they will I see I guess. When wearing watch there are more obvious tells from the perspective of an outside observer. Like the crown guards. The rehaut engraving is obviously not perfect but it's just one of the flaws in these reps and not the most obvious when been worn.

Yeah I understand, it's just one of those things that once I saw it I couldn't 'un-see' it, and I can't let go of this detail as small as it may be to others for some reason. For me the things others might obsess over, like the crown guards you mention, for example, are forgivable to me. Guess some preferences come with more experience as I still have little.

Yup some things bother you more, most people on the street won't even know you are wearing a Rolex let alone spot any flaws in it. However you know it is and some flaws may be more annoying to you. Maybe you should look at a pre engraved rehaut Rolex instead.

That 'customisation' makes it gen like to a 16610 pre-rehaut engraving.

If the engraving drives you mad, get a TC.

Ok, I think this answers my question - so it seems nobody has figured out how to accurately replicate the rehaut engraving.

But, as was pointed out to me recently, with the TC sub you still won't get the case engravings between the lugs. So if you ever plan on wearing it with a Nato style strap it's a huge tell. I just found a guy who does this engraving and I'll post some pictures soon.

Noob V3 subs come up for sale in the classified section fairly often. You just have to look out for them and grab one when you see it.
One word of caution: some of the earlier versions had a skinny crown on the dial, whereas the later ones had the more-correctly proportioned crown. The rehaut engraving was good on both of these versions.

You know how many people are wearing their divers (gen and rep) on Nato straps these days? A lot.
I just got my first Nato strap for my TC LV and I absolutely love it. Already ordered a couple more. Gives the watch a whole new look and, more importantly to me, makes it twice as comfortable to wear.
That's the main reason I'm getting the engraving done.
Not really making my life hard, just want my watch to look gen like (like everyone else here).
If you're never going to remove the bracelet, then no need to bother.

call you out on rehaut engraving unless its super terrible like the ones filled in with paint

get a v3 and v5 and build a hybrid

and generally having the engravings, even if a bit flimsy is quite nice, opposite to not having them

The V3 was one of a kind, probably a broken machine produced them - than they "fixed" it
