Hey everyone! Got another phototastic review for the family here. This time I am presenting my impressions and thoughts on JF's 15703 V10. Now, there's been some confusion over time over which is which between the 15703 and the 15710. To clarify:
The 15703 has a guilloché (engraved) dial which has a gloss finish. The thickness is also 14.10mm and the caseback is closed. The newer 15710 has a stamped dial with a matte finish. The caseback is 13.90mm and is open.
I was blessed with mine from Eric at GeekTime. He was able to procure just 3 pieces after months of waiting.TrustyTime has the 15710 V10 listed up for grabs, but not the 15703 V10. As far as I know it's a matter of luck.
Origins and formalities aside, let's get into the review!
First Impressions
Okay, let me be honest. This is my first AP ever. The dial was what gave me the push to order this beauty, and take a plunge into unknown waters.
The watch is absolutely solid, sturdy and has a great security about it. Overall it feels as premium as the best watches I have handled. I was instantly in love with this watch. She has instantly moved to my top 3 watches.
Also note how beautiful and crisp the datewheel is. On the V10 the font has been update to be even closer to gen. CRISP.
Dial and Inner Bezel
The guilloché dial here looks perfectly done. Photos don't do it justice.
Moreover, the biggest change to the V10 is the inner bezel, which I consider to be the biggest tell when taking a close glance.
