The proportions on that Bullova are spot on.

gorgeous.
I had a lot of fellow Bulova enthusiasts somewhat confused because this looks like a mixup of parts, but, I've found a few of these around. Very proud of it. It was $125 and was sold to me as dead. Just needed a new battery. They go for double and sometimes triple.

It doesn't have one. But, they didn't make many 333 Quartz divers. So that would be the start.

This is a 666 sibling.

Back on my bullshiet.

I scored this GMT SMP over at RWG. The datewheel font is wrong as it's the old "typewriter" font (as I call it). Thankfully, Omega at the time this model came out used the default datewheel font on the ETA 2892 which can be added to any 2824/2836.

I ended up getting a new 6460 movement but this watch is so damn old that the GMT hand won't fit the new movement.

So, old movement got a new datewheel and the balance wheel was cleaned along with its cap jewels oiled.

Completed.

What I thought would be a straight movement swap.

Old datewheel font.

@mclarendude Why the move to the 6460 as opposed to an eta, if I might ask?
In this case, the only reason was the jumping hour setting for the GMT and the color of the movement.

The movement the watch currently has (which I believe to be a gen ETA 2836) does not have a jumping hour, but a constantly moving gmt hand when setting.

Also, the movement installed is gold color as opposed to rhodium color (like the gen ETA 2892) it would have.

Small details, as you can imagine that no one will ever notice. :ROFLMAO:

I am almost constantly doing stuff to watches but I have forgotten to add stuff here, I will return to that, hopefully.

Just built this today. As you'd expect, running with Chronometer standards.

Had this one shipped in by a forum friend. Some weird black speck on the crystal.

Not much of a build post but more of an interesting story.

Made by Sicura right before Breitling bought them. "It was a quartz watch billed as 'Indestructible"." Some call it a pre-Breitling Breitling as Breitling took some cues from the Stunt line for a military issued watch.

They came with a over-protruding rubber-type gasket that was taller than the crystal and bezel to protect it from any bumps or scratches.

This is actually my second one, as my first was too small and was gifted to my mother.

This one is about 37mm and honestly, looks awesome to me, specially since it has the original STUNT branded rubber strap in great condition after a wash.

I got it and it was dead, installed a new battery to no avail. Thankfully, CasKer has a very nice updated list of replacement/compatibility movements. So, off I went to buy a brand new ETA quartz movement as the old one inside was just dead.

Fast forward a few and the movement arrives and the swap ensues. But, as any idiot sometimes does, I snapped the stem in the OEM crown. After a week of alum and weekend of vinegar, the stem won the battle.

I thought it was over with, until I remembered Esslinger sells screw down crown and tubes. I fetched my caliper and began to measure. I ordered what was closest to what I got. A few days later, the moment of truth came. Would my almost NOS pre-G-Shock days watch would become wearable?

To my surprise, the crown worked great. I ordered two, along with two new stems just in case. Only problem is that the replacement crown is not bead-blasted like the rest of the watch. Yet, it matches fine as the hands are polished as well.

I'm enjoying it around the house and proud to say that it passed a 5ATM wet-test!

No pictures because I keep forgetting but, after some very heavy reading from @KJ2020's guide to clean up and oil balance wheels, I finally have successfully done my first with a Novodiac spring.

I had failed many times before as I kept exerting too much pressure on the spring while re-installing it with the correct Bergeon 31081-NOV28 tool. But, today, patience has preveiled. The watch was running erratically with the amplitude just all over the place. Now? Perfectly to my standards.

The things a little one-dip, oil, and patience gets us in this hobby. I'll post up some timegrapher numbers after final regulation.

Nice one bro, it can be a next level breakthrough to complete mastery for some movements.
